The vanishing tabby

I have only had my tabby cat Boots for 2 weeks and we are just getting to know each other. He was skittish the first evening but every day since he has been a joy. Boots likes to lay on us when we are on the couch and if we get up to go to another room he will follow. He is curious natured as all cats are but has never been out of our sight for long until today. At 10:30 AM Boots perched on the back of the living room couch as I was writing stories. When I got up to get some water he went to the steps and ran up.

A few moments later my son said that Boots was lying down on the floor at the top of the steps but about 20 minutes after that he was nowhere in sight. This was out of character so we began searching. For 5 1/2 hours, we combed every inch of the house and also outdoors. We knew that there was no way Boots could have gotten outside because the doors were shut but we did not want to take any chances. I walked up and down the sidewalk calling and asking neighbors if they had seen my gray cat. I looked on all of his favorite hiding places to no avail.

We searched every room in the house 4 times, including the bathrooms, attic, and basement. We called "Kitty kitty Boots" which always made him come running. We used flashlights and even moved objects on the floor but it was to no avail. My son and I were terrified that somehow the cat had found a way outside and was hurt or dead. At the time he went missing the only rooms he had access to were the living room and kitchen downstairs and the same two rooms upstairs as all the doors were shut.

This was not making sense and I began crying as I prayed for a sign that my cat was alright. It simply was not logical that the cat could not be found and unusual that he was not answering us. I knew by now he must be hungry and thirsty and I was quite frantic. I thought his microchip might locate him but I found out it was only for identification. At 4:00 I sat on the downstairs living room couch and something I learned long ago came to mind. I said out loud, "If there is anything Satanic or demonic about my cat's disappearance I demand you bring him back."

This had worked on occasion for missing items around the house so I thought why not try. About 4 or 5 minutes later my son yelled from upstairs that he had walked out into the hall and Boots was seated in the same place he had seen him just before he disappeared. My son then told me that he had friends who had suggested that Boots was in the cat dimension while he was missing. I had never heard of this before but it is believed to be some type of Twilight Zone for felines. I thought about Star Trek and how Captain Kirk and his crew could be beamed up or down and re-materialize in other places.

Was there something supernatural to the disappearance of Boots and did my demand brig him back? Is there such a place as the cat dimension and is that where my kitty was? All I can say for certain is that Boots was missing for almost 6 hours without explanation and is usually not out of our sight more than 10 minutes at a time. Until today my tabby had always come running when I call, but for all of that time did not. We looked high and low multiple times, in every possible space inside and out all through the day without success. Boots suddenly appeared in the very spot where he was last seen. That's all I can tell you.
