A mystery Drabble from the cat's point of view

This is Mochi, a curious and very expressive cat, a great communicator. I asked him: "What are you doing, Mochi?" He looked at me, looked back at the wall ... — Photo by Susan Fourtané

Don't you see what I see? Up there, on the wall.

Climbing as if it were running for its life. It's so big!

I know it’s just an ant. But it’s climbing that wall rather fast.

How can I catch the bloody insect?!

Look at its size! Where is that ant coming from?!

If I can't go out, how can the ant come inside?

Does this ant know some secret way of crossing through the glass windows that I don't know?

And why is it climbing where I can’t reach?

This is MY house!

That disrespectful ant came in uninvited!

Do you see what I see? Up there, on the wall. —Image: Susan Fourtané and Mochi

LOL! I enjoyed this so much, Susan. That's exactly what a cat would think! Wonderful poem!

A truly fun and relatable moment of frustration over a single, surprisingly large, and very disrespectful ant!

The way you captured the cat’s playful yet gentle nature really brought the narrative to life, and the ant’s determination added a charming layer of depth.

This was fantastic! My orange boy would be yelling his head off. I can hear that cat's voice and meowing in the lines of your poem.

Very funny and inventive drabble Susan. Great fun to read! I wonder if cats can really think in words? Bob is always trying to claw at things on the other side of the window. He never gives up, especially if it's a spider. He likes crunching them 😂

Lol. I love how creative this was. It went from curious contemplation to getting angry. That the ant is trying to take over his sanctuary. Especially with this line, 'why is it climbing where I can't reach'. Nice work, Susan. Looks like the ant is really the one in charge. 🤗❤️

  • Hahahahahahahahhaa Mochi is so funny and adorable!

  • That was such fun. My feline visitors are always watching the bird feeder, and while they are sitting there, the birds come and nick the cat treats.

I love how you’ve taken something as small as an ant and turned it into a whole dramatic confrontation.
