Why My Golden Retriever Needs a High Quality Diet for Adventure. Created with: Ollie.
This is Aspen, my beautiful, goofy and lovable dog. Aspen’s transformation from adoption to today is something I love to look back on. I adopted Aspen when he was just six months old, as a rescue puppy from China, through Golden Bond Rescue. Initially he was a little nervous, insecure, and always wanted to be snuggled. Nearly six years later, he loves to adventure, run, and camp. We’ve traveled a lot together: I’ve taken him to Colorado, Nevada, Arizona, Wyoming, Montana, Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, and Canada. Still, our favorite place to be is home in the Pacific Northwest. The environment itself is his backyard, his playground. Whether it’s walking the lush trails of the Columbia River Gorge, exploring the expansive beaches of the Oregon Coast, or playing in the crisp, powdery snow, Aspen is always ready to go. One of my favorite things about him is that he is always so happy. Even after hours of long walks, he's still stoked to find a cool stick to carry, or just be walking by my side.

What to Feed Your Squirrels
Please note that this article will contain affiliate links for easier shopping that help support the author. Much like weaning a human baby off of breastmilk or formula, weaning a baby squirrel off of formula and onto solid foods is an exciting but cautious time. After all, a baby moving onto solid foods is a sign of positive growth, meaning they’re going to need good, nutritious foods to support their ongoing growth and development. As they grow older, their need for proper nutrition becomes paramount, especially if they’re going to be kept as pets. A diet of nuts and veggies won’t be enough to keep them healthy, as they’ll ultimately be deficient in protein, calcium, vitamin D, and the crucial B vitamins and other nutrients they need.
