That Week We Slept In A Bathtub
It's hard to come up with a single poignant memory of your pets when you have five rescue cats. I have some of the fondest memories of my life with each one of them. I'm one of those cat moms that could never foster. I'd have nine of them if we had the space.

Noise Annoys
Introduction This is just a random piece on how noise can become incredibly intrusive in whatever we are doing. For some, this can cause serious issues in their lives; for others, they manage to cope. I manage to cope with it although when someone is playing loud Happy Techno on a bus that does become a little trying to say the least.

Misty and Me
A time to heal, after a very long journey. I am a survivor in everyone's eyes except my own. I was beaten down left hurting and scattered. Lost in my mind of what really mattered. I was lost and alone in my broken mind struggling to find purpose and understanding of what I had been through. A higher meaning a reason at the very least. Everyday just melted into another, I was coping and settling. Support was never an issue luckily that was something I had in spades. However, I was lacking purpose. Someone who needed me, who depended on me. Someone who was in need of my help and not the other way around. Having a constant state of needing to rely on people to help me surrendering into their commands and instructions not really having a voice because really there was only one way out of this realistically. A very hard and unappealing way, still necessary though. So I did what I was told to do and it left me a shell of a person. Grateful without question but scarred and tormented which left me feeling very isolated in my feelings.

Want to Protect Right Whales? Don’t Eat Lobster.
Historically, right whales became endangered after years of exploitation by the whaling industry. However, thanks to laws such as the Marine Mammal Protection Act and the Endangered Species Act, whales are no longer threatened by whaling in United States Waters. While some species have recovered to pre-whaling numbers, some, like the North Atlantic right whale, have yet to make a full recovery. A recent threat has jeopardized their survival: the lobster industry.

Fizzi's First Valentine
Fizzi is my little seven-pound applejack, meaning he is half apple head chihuahua and half Jack Russell terrier. I brought him home when he was eight days old. Right away he had me wrapped around his tiny paw. Having Fizzi is like having a baby that will never grow up and I spoil him just as much as I did my two children when they were babies.

Meet Pugsly
Meet Pugsly, a dog with shoes. Pugsly is a pit, chow, and grey hound mix. He has a V8 block engine head and lock jaw from the pit, his brown and tan coat is full and fluffy thank to the chow, but underneath all his fluff he is very slender like a grey hound. He is also very fast for seventy pounds. Pugsly is currently seven years old. Thankfully his bark is solid and loud which makes him sound like a junkyard guard dog because he is so sweet and gentle.

Saffron the Wonder Dog
We got Saffron when I was very young. I’m not sure exactly how old, but I know that there was a conversation around either getting a dog or a rabbit. Saffron was much better than any rabbit ever could have been. She was the fluffiest golden retriever I have ever known, with pale yellow fur that never darkened to the rich gold I’ve seen in other retrievers since.

A dog almost named Cookie
My family is one of thousands that rescues stray animals. There was never a time we didn't have at least one former-stray companion living with us. Right now, we have two cats: one named Mimzy and the other Minnie, and two dogs, a German Shepherd named Remo and a mix named Heidi.

Lost, Found and a Forever Home. Runner-Up in 24/7 Companion Challenge.
Lost I’m not sure how I got here, but I’ve been on my own for several days. Everything is new and scary. Sometimes I’m able to slow down and I think I’ve found a safe spot to hide and rest, but someone yells, “Get out of here,” and I run. Sometimes they will throw rocks or sticks at me and I don’t think they mean to play fetch—my favorite game.
