His Name Was Biscuit
The rescue group named him Biscuit – a skinny, mostly white, one-eyed miniature poodle mix who had had a rough start to life. While a cute name, he didn’t quite look like a Biscuit. He was a bit unsure of himself at first, but it didn’t take long for his spunk to shine through. Biscuits, generally, are not spunky. My husband thought Rugby was a much better name for this new addition to our family. I completely agreed. This little guy brought a new level of chaos and fun into our lives. There was no turning back.

Errors in Lessons
Most humans live their entire lives blissfully unaware of the many ways and tactics the universe works in their favor to teach them the lessons necessary to elevate their souls. These tactics are so inconspicuous that most humans simply assume these lessons are inconveniences or challenges, coworkers or passing strangers. However, the most effective method, in my humble opinion, is being assigned a dog.

Double-Dog-Dare
We went into quarantine with two dogs and came out with four. Actually, there's more to the story than that. In December 2019, just before the pandemic, my wife Susan and I began rescuing and fostering dogs. We had two of our own, both rescues, Dino, our standard poodle mix, and Daisy, our beloved Bichon Frise whose health was in decline.
