It's been said that people that hate cats will come back as mice in their next life.
Raising a Stray
When we brought Arno home, we knew that he was going to probably have some problems related to being abandoned and having to fend for himself for the first few weeks of his life. He didn't have anyone taking care or him, in fact, we think he was the caretaker, and the one that went and got the food, because his sibling was much too sick when they were rescued to have taken on that role. Arno was a strong, relatively healthy boy, who was dealt a bad hand when he was born. I don't know what the first 8 weeks of his life looked like, but at 8 weeks old, we welcomed him into our family. He was quick to purr, but wasn't overly affectionate, because he didn't know how. My husband, Kevin, and I showered him with lots of love and kisses (when he tolerated it) and made sure he always had food, water, a litter box, and love.

Another Adoption!
Well, since at least some of you have been reading the story about our adoption journey with our little boy, Arno, I felt it fitting to share the journey of adopting his sister. My husband and I have been looking around at animal shelters and humane societies since we moved about 3 weeks ago, because Arno has been a little lonely. Where we lived before, he had an older female cat who, while she didn't like him and was always hissing at him and cuffing him, was feline companionship for him.

Sad Case of Animal Neglect
What Love Can Do This is a picture of Charlie looking very healthy after a year of lots of love and food. Charlie was rescued by Feline Cat Care Rescue Charity from a cat hoarder who had twenty other cats. Charlie had Feline calicivirus that was left untreated. Because of this, he had trouble eating, leaving him incredibly thin and emaciated. I took one look at him and adopted him. Although I had to wait two months before they would release him. Every Sunday I would spend time with Charlie getting to know him. Even though he was mistreated, he was a loving cat ready to trust again.

Kitty
More than likely, I am not the only one that thinks that their cat is the best cat ever. I say my beautiful Kitty is the best cat ever because she was not like any cat that I had come in contact with before. She was scared of me and my siblings when she first came into the family, but after a while, she would sit near us when we would be in the living room. She acted like she was a dog. She became a total lap cat for my brother. She would always follow him around the house and she would lay on his lap when he was home on leave.

Can Cats See Color?
We all know that cats are constantly alert (if they're not sleeping) and go crazy for a laser pointer. But can they see that the laser pointer is red? A question that is often debated, if cats can cats see color or not is mostly derived from pure curiosity of cat owners. Do they know the color of my eyes? Can they tell which color their toys are?
