My Pawtner knows I need a break.
Working too hard and stressed and he can tell.

Times were changing, her work was changing, and all he knew was that his favorite hooman was now around all the time. He couldn't have asked for anything more except for his human to be on a bigger seat that he could cuddle up on her with. She sat at a desk for 10 hours a day. She seemed to forget to take breaks. Obviously, she just needed to be reminded. He gave her the big eyes and nudged her for pets. She scratched his head for a sec and was back to work. He could tell she was exhausted and stressed and he just wanted his hooman to be happy.
She was trying to adjust to this new way of living and working and started trying to eat better too. Dieting, working from home, being on lockdown, and only having her furbabies to keep her company was taking its toll. Working from home her company was also going through a merger and people were scared they were going to lose their jobs. She only bought her house a few years ago and had to have medical insurance because of a medication she needed to stay alive. Even with that all on her mind, she was most worried about not being able to provide for her beloved dogs and cats that meant the world to her. She only wanted to be able to give them everything they needed and wanted. Their wellbeing and happiness were more important to her than anything.
Her furbabies could sense something was wrong. They could sense her sadness, her stress, and her anxiety. They all took turns cuddling up to her and trying to comfort her. The three dogs would all laid under her desk on her feet keeping them warm in the winter. Every once in a while one of them would poke their heads under her keyboard between her legs to say hi and ask for pets. Even though having them there was a great comfort for her she would still get lost in her work not even realizing how much time has gone by. Only remembering to eat because they let her know it's dinner time. Her oldest pup made sure to remind her. She once picked up her bowl and dropped it on her foot then grumble barked at her. Mom knew it was time to eat and give the pups their dinner too.
David is the middle pup of the three and he wanted to take full advantage of mom being at home a whole lot more. He would often try to lay in the rolling chair next to her but was to big to curl up in it and not fall out. So she would pull it closer so he could use her lap and the seat to make a comfy nap spot. He hoped he would get more constant pets this way. Day after day he did this.
Mom was looking extra stressed this day so he jumped up on the chair next to her and looked right at her. He put his paw on her hand stopping her from using her mouse and working. She looked over at him and he gave her the look. The look that let her know he was there for her, he loved her, and that she needed to stop and take a break.
From then on every day she worked she took mandatory love on the pup breaks. He would put his paw on her arm letting her know it was time for hugs. Even when she said no not now he would persist and persist till she finally would give in. When she did give in it was always worth it. The smile he gave her and when she scratched his back it was like the stress would take a back seat. She was more productive at work and a happier person overall.
