A lot of time it happens that we are stressed out, tired or sometimes completely exhausted from our college assignments, office work, relationships or some other daily life problems. At those times we always feel like moving to a soothing place and spend time with ourselves only and no one else. It is found that being close to nature in those crucial situations has been proven to be the best remedy ever!

Being a nature lover and always curious to learn I try to explore more and more about all the natural elements present on our planet. I have observed that the beautiful trees, unique flowers, lakes and lovely creatures had made our mother nature alive! In the wonderful journey of exploration, I have found that there are so many unique and rare varieties of animals that we can't even imagine and a lot of them are still to be discovered.

Whether you talk about peacocks, fish, squirrels, birds, dogs, tiny butterflies or spiders, they all are amazing! But today in the era of development and technology we are lacking behind some of our responsibilities towards these creatures.

As we all know once upon a time there were dinosaurs on earth and now they are history for our generation. Likewise, several animal species are on the brink of extinction or considered endangered species, nowadays. According to the Red list of 2021, 10,437 vertebrates including fishes, birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals are threatened to extinction or critically endangered. It has been found by IUCN that from 10,336 freshwater fish species almost 30% are at the risk of extinction.

In one of my articles about the 5 most endangered creatures from the world I had written about the reasons behind their declining populations and how could we help them to survive on Earth. The list had included the African Forest Elephants, Javan Rhinos, Amur Leopards, Hawksbill Turtle and the Sumatran Orangutan. However, while exploring the endangered species I found that they are innumerable and it's not easy to name them in a single list.

During my research, I also found that the major cause behind this serious plight is natural habitat loss, unfavourable climatic conditions, lack of food and poaching. In all these issues human beings are involved some way or the other. Nowadays, the construction of huge buildings, apartments, malls, etc. has become the cause of deforestation making several creatures homeless. In one of my stories on Koalas, I had put forward the concern for the declining ratio of these cute creatures due to the same cause of deforestation of trees which are their homes as well as the only food source.

I want to convey that if we could be at the back of the threat of extinction to the animals then why can't we help them to survive on the planet. Our small deeds will help them a lot in improving their population ratio. Mike Grindle one of my friends and fellow writers on the Medium has written in his story about those 10 animals who have bounced back from near extinction. This article made me think that it is possible to help those pity creatures survive. Thanks to those animal rescue groups from all over the globe who are doing a tremendous job for them.

But we can also become a part of their journey by doing some small jobs and preventing their extinction. It's my dream of the year 2022 to make people aware of this major concern and let them know that the creatures are silently urging us for help. Let's take a pledge in 2022 to foster kindness and awareness in the hearts of the people for the most essential part of nature- the animals.

How could we help?

To save their lives from extinction and for the survival of these endangered creatures, we 'humans' can play a vital role in our small deeds.

We can pledge to preserve nature's beauty for our future generations by stopping or not encouraging wildlife crimes.

By avoiding the purchase of illegal wildlife products, contributing to the wildlife conservation funds, making our friends, family and other acquaintances aware of the declined population of the species and adopting the creatures for their survival, we can show some efforts and help them in their existence on Earth.

I believe that one day we would surely talk about our conservation success stories in future. It's not too hard to help, even just by adopting them we would have a nice companion in our homes and they would get their stake on the planet.
