Leftover Farewell

We saved Snowy from starving death and gave him a new life

One of the best things I learned from my friend is that he never differentiated between street dogs and branded dogs in fact the pet he has is a street dog which he later adopted.

It was a cold and rainy day in December 2017. India I and my sister was returning to our home from our daily coaching class and we saw, there was a girl who was looking down near a garbage area we went near it and saw a little puppy shivering in cold, red ants all over the body biting him he was in complete pain shouting and shivering, the girl near added that few dogs were trying to bite him so she helped the little puppy we immediately cover the puppy with the scarf.

On the way, walking on the street it started raining fast and we didn’t have an umbrella so we managed to cover him as much as we can and god knows from where these two girls suddenly appeared and approached us by saying “ Hey, come will share the umbrella and drop you till home ”. In that rainy conversation, we managed somehow and reached home! Shout out to those girls whose names I don’t remember now!❤

After bringing him home my mom told “ The puppy is just 15 days old ” we gave him milk to drink. Omg he was so adorable & so hungry and weak, the whole bowl was finished within a few minutes we cleaned him and bathed him but those ants were still there! Since I never had a pet before so I didn’t know what are those red little creatures giving him pain. For expert advice, I called my friend (who knows everything about dogs😂). I took snaps of this cutie and send it to him. He told me it was kind of lice all over his body but he was still in pain shouting itching and scratching all his body. I felt it’s better to take the little one to the vet! At the vet, the doctor treated him I explained the whole scenario to the doc he said “ it’s common among dogs nothing serious to worry about. ” He gave him the vaccine and sprayed something on his body & boom all lice started to die! And told me to apply gel to the affected area.

On the way home, he slept so peacefully I was just looking at him his little toes and furry skin just like a soft furry small cotton ball. At night he woke up barking again I gave him milk and a sudden boost of energy in him.

He started playing, hiding, moving from one corner to another with his tiny little paws just like a human baby. We decided to call him ‘snowy’!

Snowy because he was a soft little ball of fur. I request my mom to keep him as a pet but mom said: “ your father and I both are working people and you and your elder brother had schools & classes so it ain’t possible for us to look after snowy ”. I told my friend about it so he asked his parents but they already had one so no from his family too. One day one of our neighbors came said that one of her friends wants a dog so if we are okay to give snowy then she’ll talk about snowy with her friend. At first in my mind, it was a big NO but then I realized that it's okay he will be in good caring & loving people who will spend time with him.

Grandpa visited us for a stay we had a lot of fun. It was the next day Monday everyone rushing and juggling for their work and I was late for my classes as usual. So I rushed to my class after coming grandfather told me that the family came and took Snowy! I screamed and cried I wasn’t prepared for it! I was sad, everyone was sad. The last unsaid goodbye.

But it’s all worth it. I was happy because he found his new home & loving people! I was happy because I and my sis didn’t let him die! I was happy because good people do exists (doctors & those two girls)! I was happy because my friend taught me to love animals. I was happy because he was relieved from those biting lice. And yes I am happy because we all saved his life! Sad for only one thing that I couldn't say goodbye to him. A farewell left to give him.
