Gharials - The Best of the Crocodile Grins!
The first successful breeding of gharials (Gavialis gangeticus) in Europe took place at Protivin Crocodile Zoo in the Czech Repulic this year, an incredible achievement—congratulations! Following this, I decided to dedicate this entry to the urgent plight of the gharial and take this opportunity to nerd out about what are hands down my favourite species of crocodilian.

My Siberian Husky
Siberian Huskies are some of the most elegant and majestic dogs around. The way they run brings about fierceness and strength to their stature. However, despite these facts, Huskies are also some of the goofiest and sassiest dogs you'll come across.

The Emotions of Birds
Small birds are surprisingly emotional. It is common knowledge that dogs and cats have various emotions, but what about the birds? I am a new bird-mom to two male cockatiels. I had no idea that they would have such varied emotions. Because the internet is LITTERED with videos and blogs about the emotions of dogs and cats, I thought that my birds would be as emotional as my floral wall paper. Nothing could prepare me for what I discovered with both of my little birds.

Whales Should Not Be Held Prisoner
We take a sum of about ten to twenty dollars and pay our admission to the zoo to watch animals for our own entertainment. Many zoos encompass the United States and are often visited. We see and analyze monkeys, birds, lions, tigers, and bears and we observe the adventurous animals. Children seem to love to see the animals in "habitats" but, in reality, the "habitats" are not what they should be. We wholeheartedly take kids to these places in order for them to see and witness creatures they would not, unless taken to the zoo. One animal that really stands out are whales. Whales are huge, beautiful creatures that are extremely intelligent. Although whales are extravagant, they should not be held in captivity in places like SeaWorld because they are dangerous to keepers, their living space is too small for their instinct, and they do not work particularly well with other whales swimming around.

10 Reasons Why Pets Are Amazing. Top Story - December 2017.
Bruce Cameron wrote, "When we adopt a dog or any pet, we know it is going to end with us having to say goodbye, but we still do it. And we do it for a very good reason: They bring so much joy and optimism and happiness. They attack every moment of every day with that attitude."

Enter Nyla. Christmas time a year ago, my boyfriend and I were browsing a dog rescue page when we came across her. An eight week old Yorkie/Cocker Spaniel rescued from a puppy mill with her 6 siblings. We couldn't resist! We filled out the application in hopes we would be approved for any one of the six pups, and we were lucky enough to be matched with her.

The Year I Owned a Pot Belly Pig
The day of the week doesn't matter. I couldn't remember it if I tried. It was summer though, June 2014. Haili and I were having lunch, went for a drive, picked up her little cousin — the usual things to keep you busy in a small town with nothing to do. We joked about going to get Cousin a new bunny to take home and surprise her dad. Too bad there weren't any bunnies at the feed store that day. They did have pot belly pigs, though.

My Unlikely Saviour
I have always had a connection with horses. Since I can remember, I was that one weird girl in school who was obsessed with horses. I had mastered how to whinny, neigh, and run like a horse (Yes, I was that peculiar). I would much rather be around horses than people (Until I discovered alcohol of course...).
