Why an Akita?
It was around my one-year anniversary that a best friend of mine had told me he was selling puppies. I asked what breed of dog they were and he said, "Akitas." Honestly, I'd never heard of Akitas until that very moment. I paid no mind until I randomly brought it up to my boyfriend. He was ecstatic. I had no idea why until he told me he has raised Akitas all his life and listed what they were capable of.

My Name Is Phoebe
Hi, my name is Phoebe. I am the ruling queen of my domain, and I'm also two. I have my two-legged loyal and faithful subject who I call Nani, running about my castle, caring for me and other my four-legged.... acquaintances? If even that. All I know about them is that I'm royal and they aren't. How do I know? They're forced to do tricks for treats! Forced! Peasants. Then there is my mom. She has only two legs, too. She lets me sleep in the bed with her, but does not like any of the peasants to sleep with her. That's another thing that makes me special. Mom likes to take me everywhere, likes to walk around a big puddle, to the place with all the food and treats, to the thing that washes whatever she drives around in and she even puts pretty outfits on me.

You may not be able to see him."Me: "Why was he labeled aggressive?"Operator: "He snapped at a volunteer, so he may be un-viewable."Me: "I'm on my way. Thank you."

Top 10 Benefits of Doggy Daycare
For many, if not all, dog owners, our dogs are like our babies and must be cared for as such. Dogs require lots of love and attention, and not all of us can provide that all of the time. And that's OK. That's why there are services out there like doggy daycares. They provide you and your pup with a multitude of benefits, all of which I can personally affirm from my experience working at a doggy daycare.

The Importance of Keeping Your Cat Inside
If you asked me this time last year how I felt about my pet situation, I would have said I'm overjoyed! As I sit here and stare at the picture of two of my babies, I get a heavy heart. Maybe if I would have kept them inside or gotten them vaccinated sooner, they would still be here with me. Feline leukemia stormed through my house, in total killing four of my cats. The youngest cat being six months and the oldest cat being a little over a year. I had to put each and every one of them to sleep and because of that. There is a stain on my soul that will never come clean. It could have been prevented.

You Want to Own a Bird?
I remember when I first thought of buying my bird. I looked into everything: every type of bird and what to expect. I looked into everything that was ideal for my lifestyle and the needs and necessities to make my bird's life happy and comfortable as well. I wanted a safe ground for both of us.

Life With Dogs
Have you ever had one of those mornings where you spring from bed knowing something isn’t right? I had one this morning. You see every morning my wonderful hubby gets up at the crack of dawn (because that is when the doggie alarm clock tells him to get up). He makes a pot of coffee and takes the dogs out for their run.

Loving the Snow
My three year old dachshund, Zack, loves the snow! This wasn't always the case when he was younger. Early on he'd hop around getting used to the cold but soon figured out that he loved the taste and the cold on his tongue. He even likes ice cubes from the freezer! As much as he loves the snow, he hates the rain. The first time he was out and about and the snow turned to rain, he looked pissed! How dare his precious snow turn to rain! I couldn't put the umbrella up fast enough! Anyway, getting back to the snow, he'll try to eat the snow and even make a path from our front walk to the grass and sidewalk beyond. He'll push the snow around with his snout in a zig zag pattern wandering from place to place. He even tries to eat the snow as it's falling! Just like a kid trying to catch a snowflake on his tongue. My family laughs every time he ends up with snow on his snout. I'd say he almost loves winter more than any other season just because of the snow. And if there's a "big snow" he seems extra excited to get outside.
