Best Teething Toys For Puppies
The Best chew toys for your baby land shark!
Congrats on your new puppy! Being a pet parent is one of the most joyful things you will get to experience. BUT along with those snuggles and wagging tails, comes the frustrating stage where they want to chew everything...and I do mean EVERYTHING. They want to bite your ankles, your fingers and your favorite shoes. Like human babies, puppies go through a teething stage and it can be quite painful for them (and you of course) so they try to relieve the pain by chewing.
Like you, I was also trying to find ways to get them to stop being so nippy and have watched countless videos on how to stop puppies from biting. I tried it all! The number one thing I have found that actually works is Chew (or teething) toys! I am not a dog trainer by any means but just from my experience alone, and from what other people have told me, these chew toys are some of the best.

Kong Toys
This is by far one of my favorite chew toys for puppies. The KONG Puppy soft rubber formula is customized for a puppy's teeth and gums. I have personally purchased this and a few others from this brand. They are durable and they help to keep your fur baby entertained as well! You can also put peanut butter or treats inside of the toy as a way to keep your puppy's mental and instinctual needs stimulated which can help with chewing, barking, digging, boredom or separation anxiety. This brand also carries an array of different toys and sizes for dogs of every age. Veterinarian and Trainer recommended.

NWK Cooling Chew Toys
This one's a cool one. Hah! See what I did there? I know, I know. That was kind of cheesy but I couldn't resist. Let me make my point here, though. Living in Florida, this one's a life saver. It kind of looks like one too. Okay, okay. I'll stop....but hear me out! Like me, living in Florida. It's always hot. I'm constantly sweating so I can only imagine how my German Shepherd feels when I have to take him out to go potty.
This one's perfect because on days (and months) like that, I just stick this little doohickey in the freezer, (it's filled with 100% purified water) take it out and let him go to town on it. It helps to cool him down and keeps him occupied. A win-win for the both of us! Another neat feature is that with the little ridges on the side of the toy, it helps to keep his teeth clean and massages their gums. (Don't skip out on regular brushing and dentals, though!) AKC recommended.

JW Hol-ee Roller
The JW Hol-ee Roller for Puppies is one of the most versatile puppy toys I have found. Made from natural rubber, this toy is gentle on your puppy's mouth while your puppy chews, fetches, or tugs. The design with openings all over the toy allows you to stuff it with treats (much like the Kong) to keep them entertained! They have a variety of colors and sizes available as well.

Barkworthies Bully Sticks
This one is a little different than the other ones I have mentioned previously. Instead of an actual toy, we have chew treats! While working at an Animal Hospital, The Veterinarian I worked for recommended these for me to try with my puppy. I have heard a lot of amazing things from other pet parents so I decided to purchase some. I saw how much Hazey loved them so I decided to buy more. They last for a long time depending on the breed of your puppy and their enthusiasm level. Good for any sized dog, there are no artificial preservatives and are highly digestable.

Willie Bones Chew Toy
Made with 100% non toxic rubber this chew toy is one of the best when it comes to an aggressive chewer. It has a one size fits all approach and has raving reviews on amazon. This would be a toy you would give your baby pooch while you're gone to work or out running errands to keep them entertained for longer periods of time. I'm really loving the modern design along with all the puppies on the cardboard package. So cute!
