Stirling and Thistle

Mistress woke up earlier than usual, this is a good thing, as we don’t like burning daylight hours. Up, dressed, got our vests on, she put some herbal anti-pest liquid on us and out we went. The ground and cars had some kind of strange white stuff on it. Didn’t look like snow that we’re used to, didn’t crunch like snow, but it was neat and didn’t chill our paws too much. Up to the grassy area, around the short block and home again. A brindle bulldog decided he was going to say something not nice and I told him to be quiet in no uncertain terms. I looked at Mistress after I said it and we walked on to the park. I did my business a second time there. All cleaned up, we walked on home. Anti-allergy paste given, breakfast served, now off to snooze. Mistress has promised to work with us on tricks later for our dog modelling future, that usually means more treats, YUM Laters! xx

8 March 2023

Mistress has been waking up earlier about 7:30 am, she says, very glad for that. It is Baltic here today. According to the guy on the tele, it was supposed to be the coldest night of the year last night. I believe it. It lasted into the morning as well. We went up to the grassy area, I asked for the ball even before I did my first business, but Mistress made me wait until after. Once we got out of the little grove of trees and onto the actual grass, I did, then walked over and sat in front of Mistress. She unhooked my noseband, then the leads from her belt and I took off like a shot. Feels good to run and stretch my legs. Mistress threw the ball for a good while, then I got tired and willingly walked over to her. She took the ball, put it in her pocket, reattached the lead to her belt, put my noseband on and we walked down to the bin so she could deposit the businesses we did on the way down. She let us lead, and Stirling and I decided it was too cold to do even the short block walk, so we headed home, much to Mistress' surprise. Anti-allergy paste and dental treats a warmed up breakfast hand-fed to us, just cause we like it once in a while. Mistress reminded us we have the dog training class to help her teach later, so that will be fun. Now off to nap while Mistress does her out-loud reading. See you later! xx

It snowed overnight, not much, but enough for it to still be on the grass this morning. Mistress was up at the earlier time, dressed herself, harnessed us and out the door we went. We thought we were going to the grassy area, but instead we stayed on the flatter surface and went to the park. We walked around the outside edge, then started playing ball a bit, until Thistle started losing her ball in the snow when the snow stuck to the ball and made it look like a snowball. Then we gained company and decided to head for home. Mistress’ hands were cold, even though she was wearing gloves. At home, wiped down, even the paws, warmed up breakfast went down a treat. Porridge, beef broth and scrambled eggs. Yum! Off to snooze while Mistress works. Laters! xx
