From lions to wild snakes.

When you think 'pet', you think something domestic, something mainstream. You think 'dog', 'cat', 'fish'...your first thought is never lion. Whose first thought is ever lion unless your first name is Joe and your last name Exotic.

However, it seems like Tiger Kings don't exist only in America or on television. It looks like even here in Nigeria, we have affluent people who have decided to opt for more unconventional animals as pets.

Today, we'll be counting down 7 Nigerian Celebrities Who Keep Wild Animals as Pets.

1. DJ Cuppy

Nigerian superstar DJ, DJ Cuppy surprised fans when she showed off her pet lion also named Cuppy who had been given to her as a gift from the owner of a park in Dubai.

Cuppy did not keep the lion with her, but instead released the lion into the custody of the person who gave it to her as a gift. She did however after 10 months go back to visit the cub above, and by the time she got back, that cub was no longer a cub at all.

2. Ahmed Indimi

President Buhari's son-in-law, Ahmed Indimi took to social media to show off his new pet lion.

Captioning the photo simply 'My New Pet', Indimi showed off different pictures of himself posing with his new lion to the surprise of many of his followers.

3. Jim Iyke

Another person who made headlines was Nollywood actor Jim Iyke who was photographed playing with lions and cheetahs seemingly in his front yard.

Fans and people all over the nation praised him for his courage but also warned him to be careful as they didn't want him to end up being lion feed.

4. 9ice

Another Nigerian daredevil who made headlines was no other person but Nigerian singer 9ice who surprised everybody when he showed off himself brandishing a snake around his neck.

Fans of the singer expressed concern saying that they hope he doesn't choke but considering the fact that 9ice is still alive today, I guess he survived. I could never!

5. Yovi

Upcoming Nigerian artiste Yovi surprised his fans on the 15th of August, 2019 when he showcased his young pet crocodile to the world.

In addition to announcing the news, Yovi also held a naming ceremony for the crocodile during which time he named it Tarzan.

A crocodile!

6. Pretty Mike

I really do not like snakes. But clearly Pretty Mike does.

In 2017, he bought a pet python which he named Toke Makinwa - yes, Toke Makinwa because according to him:

I named my pet snake Toke Makinwa because every Toke Makinwa is a snake. I named my pet python Toke Makinwa because I believe that she is not just a snake, but a huge snake – a python.

Urgh, I really do not like even looking at snakes so let's move on!

7. Runtown

Nigerian singer Runtown surprised fans in 2018 when he showed off his pet lion in a video where he could be seen feeding the lion with a bottle.

Over months, Runtown stopped posting the lion frequently and when asked about this by fans, he said:
