3 Easy Things to Teach your NEW PUPPY!

The most common dog training commands are basically - sit, down, come & stay. Although these things are important to teach your dog, don't forget about the importance of teaching them tricks too.

Dog tricks are a great way to keep your dog's mind active and give them something to do. Many of them build from basic commands, so it can be a fun way to share your training with friends.

1. Give Kiss.

Training a dog to kiss is one of the simplest tricks in the book. It has mixed reviews among adults, but kids usually love it! By putting a little treat on your cheek and giving the command, you'll soon be able to get all the affection you want from your dog whenever you want it.

One other perk of teaching your dog to kiss on cue is that you can use it to prevent unwanted licking.

2. Speak.

Training your dog to speak is fun and will help with one of the most common problems they can have. You can stop excessive barking by using commands like 'speak' and 'quiet'.

These treats allow your pup to talk on command and let you decide when they would want to start & stop barking. You can use it for a good time at family gatherings if you have a dog with a lot of personality!

3. Back Up.

Backing up is a great dog trick that can come in handy when they least expect it. Once your dog knows how to do it, you can keep them from rushing out the door, crowding at the fridge, or just entertain friends for some laughs

Some patience and a few treats are all you need to teach your pup how to back up. All you have to do is give the right command, along with the occasional rewards when appropriate, in order for your dog to learn this trick.

4. Shake Paws.

Have your dog greet friends by shaking hands or paws. It's one of the easiest doggy tricks that you can usually train an animal to do in just several short teaching periods - they like using their hands and will like the good feeling it causes.

5. Spin.

If you want to make this dog trick harder, teach your dog to spin in a specific direction. You'll impress your friends when you show them how well trained your canine is!

6. Beg.

It's great to see your pet trying to please you by begging for something. This cannot be trained as easily as some other tricks, but if your dog patiently learns what is required then they will eventually be able to sit up.

7. Roll Over.

Most people first do lots of little training sessions on a dog to teach them how to roll over and then finally train them all the way up. These steps might seem like a hassle but it is worth it in the end.

It has lots of benefits as it is fun as well as a building block for other tricks, such as playing dead.

8. Play Dead.

How many times have you hurt your dog's feelings by pretending to shoot him when he walks in the room? This does seem impressive, but it's not that hard to train a pup to play dead. All you have to do is teach them how their actions match what they should do when they pretend die.

9. Take a Bow.

Taking a bow is a dog trick in which your dog places its chest on the ground while its back end is raised in the air. Bowing may appear to be a tough dog trick to teach a dog, but it is actually a natural behavior for dogs.

If you watch two dogs playing together, you'll notice that they frequently bow. This is referred to as a play bow by trainers, and it is a dog's method of inviting another dog to play. You may easily train your dog to take a bow by utilizing its natural joyful nature. It's also a fantastic way to cap off a demonstration of all your dog's new tricks!
