Would You Give Up The Truth For Relevance❓

Anyone who only sees relating with accomplished individuals in society as a means of leveraging and boosting their own identity and status would in most cases if not all be someone who would fail to be objective in communicating the truth to power.

When every affluent person in their respective field you meet regardless of who they are and what they stand for becomes your seasoned opportunity to gain some relevance of your own, you loose the needed moral ground to present them the truth of your own convictions & beliefs precisely because, you cannot objectively confront a person you derive your relevance and status from unless in most cases you are willing to give up on that relationship if it breaches your own convictions and beliefs.

I understand and know that for the essence of what humanity represents we all need people, especially people who would help us climb and reach our fullest God given potential. Whether you are in the market place, the world of media and entertainment or even within the religious space so to speak everyone at some point leverages on somebody’s name, fame, worth and accomplishment. But then it becomes problematic when we tend to become more interested in sacrificing convictions, beliefs and cogent truths that have shaped and forged us into what we are becoming for the sake of appealing to high class accomplished individuals who we perceive can become access points to our next levels.

The moment you think that a mere mortal somewhat single handedly holds the key to your uplifting, it becomes very easy to ease into succumbing to the pressures of unrighteous men who have the kind of influence that makes things happen. Paul writes in Romans 3:4 that let God be true and all men be liars. Exactly so, if what any man stands for and represents fails to meet the measurement of what truth is to God then they are false and their social status and influence does not change that fact. We must be willing to side with what God says is true even if it clearly will cost us gold mine relationships and acquaintances.

Our knowledge of the truth as stated in John 8:32 is what sets us free. Free not only from the burden of sin and Satan’s shackles but also free from the weight of trying to please mere mortal men whose desire and requirements are that we give up the truth that we so much hold dearly to our hearts. If the truth of our convictions and beliefs we claim and preach truly hold the ability to set men free and to procure the liberty of men then no amount of fame or relevance and influence should coheres us to relinquish such cogent truths just so we can climb some respected social ladder of influence and greatness according to the world’s standards. Truth is more valuable!

Imagine that Jesus for the kind of ministry He was destined to fulfill was not in a haste to compromise the truth by fraternizing and hobnobbing with the Pharisees, Sadducees and scribes of His day who probably would have given Him the best permeation into the system that these guys were already masters of. By His unyielding desire to exalt the truth, you might even argue that He burnt almost every possible bridge to these men of influence and status. At the end, all He was left with was the truth He spoke. In due time the truth that He held and was willing to die for shamefully became the very conduit of His elevation and ascension. Keep to the truth regardless, it always wins!
