Why You're Still Stuck (Even Though You're Trying to Grow)

The 3 invisible blocks that hold most people back—and how to break them.

Let me guess: You read the books. You watched the videos. You even started waking up early, journaling, or trying meditation. And yet—you still feel stuck.

You keep asking yourself: Why am I not moving forward? What am I doing wrong?

The truth is, personal growth is not always about doing more. Sometimes, it’s about seeing what’s silently holding you back.

And most of us don’t even notice it.

I know, because I’ve been there too. I was the person who tried everything. Productivity hacks, affirmations, bullet journals. But deep inside, something didn’t shift. It wasn’t until I got real with myself that I found the real problem.

If you feel like you’re trying to grow but getting nowhere, these might be the invisible blocks in your way.

1. You’re Growing to Please Others, Not Yourself

We live in a world where success looks like hustle, smiles, and Instagram-worthy mornings. But what if the version of success you're chasing... isn't really yours?

If you're reading all the right books and doing all the "right" things just to be liked, admired, or validated, your growth won’t feel fulfilling. It will feel like pressure.

Ask yourself:

Who am I really doing this for?

What do I want to feel proud of?

When I realized I was chasing goals my parents expected of me, not the ones that made me feel alive, everything changed. I stopped climbing ladders that leaned on the wrong wall.

Break the block:

Start small. Write down one goal that feels like yours, even if no one else understands it. Take one step toward it today.

2. You’re Waiting to Feel "Ready" Before You Begin

This is one of the sneakiest blocks. You think you're just "not ready yet". You need more confidence. More clarity. More money. More time.

But here’s the truth:

Waiting to feel ready is just fear dressed up as logic.

Growth doesn’t wait for perfect timing. It comes when you take messy, uncertain, scary steps forward.

I spent years saying, "I’ll start once I feel more confident." But confidence didn’t come before the action. It came after.

Break the block:

Choose one small thing you’ve been putting off. Do it scared. Do it imperfectly. Do it today.

You’ll realize that you’re far more ready than you thought.

3. You Haven’t Let Go of the Past (Yet)

You can't grow forward if you're still carrying pain from behind.

Maybe it's a failure you haven't forgiven yourself for. A relationship that broke you. Words someone said that still echo in your mind.

That invisible weight can quietly hold you in place, even if everything on the outside looks like "growth."

I once had a dream to write and share my truth. But a teacher in school once told me, "You're not good at writing." I carried that voice for years, even after I started growing. It wasn’t until I forgave that moment—and the version of myself who believed it—that I finally moved.

Break the block:

Write a letter you never send. To the person who hurt you. Or to yourself. Let it all out. Then, release it. Burn it. Delete it. But let it go.

Forgiveness isn’t weakness. It’s the freedom that lets growth begin.

Final Thoughts: Growth Feels Like Letting Go

If you’re feeling stuck, it doesn’t mean you’re broken. It means there’s something deeper you need to understand.

Sometimes it’s not about doing more.

It’s about:

Doing what’s true for you

Acting before you feel ready

Letting go of what no longer serves you

You don’t have to stay stuck. You don’t have to keep spinning in circles. You just have to pause, look inward, and ask: What am I holding on to that is holding me back?

Your next level is waiting.

Not when you feel more confident. Not when everything is perfect.

But when you decide to move, even with fear, even with doubt.

Because real growth? It begins with one brave step.
