Why Being an Indie Creator is More Fulfilling
The reason why Indie creators always produce the best work
They have focus because they know and like what they do. People who are able to maintain focus resist getting caught up or obsessing over depleting emotions such as excessive worry, anxiety, anger, petty arguments, and general negativity.
Some people constantly crave compliments for what they do because they love of the thrill of coming to the crowd and hearing the applause from their podium. Unfortunately, this sort of behavior is a huge distraction from delivering one’s unique spark.
They usually do make headway in delivering on their potential, but they don’t get as far or get there as fast as they could unless they have a team behind them.
Most of the time, whether the artist is a singer, a writer, an actor, or anything else in the category of “famous,” we can see how industries push them into the spotlight with a slew of publications and advertisements, not a natural talent who happened to be the “one and only.”
Connecting to authentic work is much about knowing what you’re born with as it is about knowing what you are dealing with. As soon as you grow older, I guess you will understand the feeling of “He got it in him.” Because according to my experiences, people can feel it either they are really good at something or they just got lucky someone can push them that far.
Now I guess this is why people who happen to be Indie creators are the best creators who have ever delivered their work.
“Authenticity soothes the soul.” — Arthur P.Ciaramicoli
Value Driven People
The importance of understanding the difference between principles and values;
- Principles are natural laws that are external to us and ultimately control the consequences of our actions. (The song is good because they use more instruments and according to my music teacher this kind of music is a piece of expensive music)
- Values are internal and subjective, representing what we care most about in guiding our behavior. (The song is whacked because everybody narrated in only one direction; I’d rather put my kind of music with spontaneity.)
Values govern people’s behavior, but principles govern the consequences of those behaviors. Most of the time, in the positive narrative, people who act knowing the consequences and yet still stretch far ahead are the best people who can come up with the greatest work.
They don’t care what people say, they don’t care about the threshold, they don’t care about the limit, they don’t care about the fame and money. All they want is just to keep producing the thing that they like.
That’s exactly why these people can only be determined by authenticity because it is driven by value, not principles.
Strict Technical Sense
Culture has norms or mores or social codes, which represent habits. They have it, but only a little, because the more established systems and procedures they interact with, the more they know they don’t want to be part of them.
In fact, 80% of their behavior is spontaneous. They know “collective art” often is part of management decisions to gain massive industrial profit, which is something they despise. The structure, the systems, and the practices are stinks to collaborate with.
I have worked with dozens of independent artists in most industries and professions and have found that the complaints contain the same element and material.
Unconditional Love for Their Work
Independent artist is ten times more difficult than “industrial artists.” You better believe that. It takes a lot more mental and emotional independence to think by yourself than it does to think with someone else.
In other words, to work successfully requires self-mastery for indie creators. Most of the time, the best part of working together as a team is people are able to justify their own failure based on the other person’s weakness.
Indie creators decide how good their work is based on what they think. Most of the time, they’re just fighting with themselves in their heads, more like crazy people, of course. But the good thing is that they pay close attention to what they’re going to do, what changes they might need, and why things need to be done.
Integrity
Integrity is a higher value than loyalty, and they know it. Or, to better put, integrity is the highest form of loyalty. Integrity means being integrated it is centered on purpose, not on people, organizations, or even management.
You will find the root of most issues that creators are dealing with is “is it popular or is it right?” We all know when we prioritize being loyal to a person or group over doing what we feel to be right, we lose integrity.
We may gain popularity or build loyalty, but downstream, this loss of integrity will undermine even those relationships between your soul and your art. It’s like talking shit about someone behind their back.
Pure Thought
They really are beasts. They really are figures that are so simple to understand but difficult to practice consistently. They are common sense, but what is common sense is not always common practice.
Most of the time, indie creators are victims. They produce the best product to understand the meaning of beauty. They are the ones who are ignored because they understand how the money will alter us.

At the end of the day, it’s all about the money, they say. So…
