Whole Heartedly
Listening to your heart and working from passion

Fulfilment is incredibly important to me and is something I require when completing any task otherwise I either simply do not complete it or I slap something together as to get it out of the way. I don’t behave like this out of spite or because I have a bad attitude, I just truly need to feel some sort of passion in order to work my best.
I am extremely lucky to have found multiple things which I enjoy and have turned many hobbies into successful businesses that allow me to make money whilst feeling whole. This was one of my main goals after leaving (not completing) high-school.
At no stage did I feel lost, in fact I had a very clear idea of how I wanted my life to turn out and went into the world with the mindset that only I can make those pipe dreams a reality. I was well prepared to wok hard so I could one day be both successful and happy.
Just before the world took a crazy turn I packed up my bags and travelled to a tiny village in another country nowhere near my little hometown, where I was going to volunteer teaching english to young children. This was something I had never done before, not the travelling I was pretty well travelled but the teaching thing I had never tried. I don’t want to sound like and annoying millennial who goes overseas one person and comes back completeley different due to a couple of weeks away, but this trip changed my life!
It validated this voice inside my head and this warmth inside my heart I had always experienced when interacting with young souls and witnessing them develop new skills just made this feeling ten times stronger. This was the point in time that I made it my priority to incorporate working with children into my career as much as possible until I am lucky enough to have some of my own.
Children inspire me due to their innocence and curiosity I was an incredibly highly strung child, I once or maybe even twice did not go to school due to not having the right pair of socks clean and at my disposal in the morning. Bear in mind that the school did not implement uniform checks, I just could not possibly face the world with an anklet rather than an above the ankle sock. However, I still had a very curoious mind and always would be exploring the world and needed to find an answer to all my questions. I feel that I sometimes loose this carefree attitude when around adults as self doubt creeps in and makes me re consider my own thoughts. A young mind tends to bounce back from rejection quickly.
Kids are incredibly resilient, silly and roll with lives punches, which is a great way to view the world. The saying laughter is the best medicine is evident in these cases as when you tell a child an embarrassing story their honest reaction is often to laugh straight in your face. As a serious over-thinker myself, this quality is one that I appreciate as it makes me view a situation differently and makes me smile. Another amazing quality they have is a strong sense of bravery.
Very brave indeed, yes this may be because they have not yet developed the ability to comprehend fear but nevertheless it is incredibly inspiring. Even the simple act of falling off a skateboard or tripping over their own two feet will most likely not bother a child, they will get straight back up and keep on going, probably even hoping for a bruise as a badge of honour. Talking to all types of children I have learnt that no all kids are lucky enough to grow up with love and care.
Unfortunately there are children who have had to endure terrible situations at such young and crucial stages in their lives. This is absolutely heartbreaking to see any human being go through but hits me particularly hard when a young body going through such a thing. I do not believe that my role when working closely with children is to completely change their lives and make sure that they are permanately happy because they have shown me that they are more than capable of handling these pressures. I do however take my time spent with them very seriously and am privileged to have had multiple opportunities to educate and hopefully influence the next generation.
My goodness I could write about young children for ever, they truly do inspire me and fill my heart with such joy and happiness.
I personally would never tell someone what they should and shouldn’t do as I know how much that really annoys me personally. However, I also love the spark in a persons eye, the life in their smile and the excitement in their voice when I listen to them speak about their passion.
We are all unique human beings who are interested in many different things, even if I personally cannot relate to a particular subject if someone is passionate about it, I will naturally pay attention and listen carefully.
It can be tricky to find a passion as the world is so busy, so I am grateful to have found mine and just genuinely wish to share it with whoever is interested.
