To the Many . Runner-Up in #200 Challenge.
To the early mornings and the feelings of a grey, heavy, ambience, where the guilt melts away with the falling rain. To the sound of the birds outside the window, tirelessly executing the exquisite concert of squawks. To my partner to be there by my side, still, loving me like he does, despite all the trouble I might be causing. To his heavy, beautiful arms resting on my waist until it hurts. To the smell of my sheets, lavishly soaked in orange and lavender. To the ten deep breaths and the perfect stillness without intrusive thoughts harassing my mind. To the split second between my feet and the timber floor, and standing there, ready for the world. To the curious potential, the day holds. To remembering that I am here only for a short visit and I might be called to leave at any time. May this year be filled with the charm of the mundane. I wish to stay present and awake, grateful, alive and at peace.

Today I can break down
Feeling lost when life is too much, what can you do? Alone, in the dark room, staring at the world via the tall window, you wonder how it would feel like to have someone care about you. You wonder how it would be to have a safe place to run away from everyone. How it would feel like to have someone who would hold you and kiss your face as tears pour down their cheeks? The feeling of love that you could share with another person.

All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women merely players; -Jaques, in Shakespeare's As You Like It Play. We started playing as a way to find our own feet, to learn to talk, to imitate our parents and siblings, as a way to hone our skills, to get in shape, to while away extra time, to reduce our stress.

The Key To A Happy New Year. Content Warning.
Do you have it? That thing some call the “it” factor? Apparently, I have the magical “it” factor. And I’m here to tell you that “it” is not limited to a select few. I get a lot of push back when I make this statement to everyone ranging from therapists to the spiritually aware.

I lived
I scroll through my Instagram feed seeing all the amazing things people have done this year. Don't get me wrong, this was weirdly a crazy and beautiful year for me too. If you look at my Instagram profile, you'll see that I traveled around the world, ran a marathon, wrote a book, got a couple of top stories on Vocal (wink, wink), and opened up a bookstore.

In the Bleak Midwinter
A yellowed dusk is mellowing the day outside my window. Inside, fairy lights, like pin pricks of hope in red, yellow, blue, green and gold dot the lamp lit room, and a cat presses herself to my thigh, purring. For a moment, just a moment, all is calm, all is bright, and I am at rest.

Identity and Lifespan
TOTAL MEDICAL KNOWLEDGE TO THE RESCUE? Total medical knowledge, thanks to the Internet of Things, is now doubling every 73 days. Consider that as recently as 1950 it had taken 50 years for this doubling. A millennium ago, it took, well, a millennium. But today, our lifespan is extending at an unprecedented rate, thanks to medical science.

So Far, So Good On Vocal
Introduction 1800 Stories This week I have passed a couple of milestones on Vocal. I won't be sharing this in the Facebook groups. I really did not expect this to happen but the Shane MacGowantribute below added 170 reads to help me get over the the forty thousand reads. I think those reads were also the reason it got a Top Story.
