Magic Is All Around, For Those Who Believe
It was fortunate that I was walking that day with a defeated posture. Had I been looking up instead of down, I probably would have walked past it, dismissing it as so many had me, as it crunched, unnoticed and unappreciated, under the heel of my shoe. There I was, head down, eyes averted in every effort to avoid human contact, lurching through the park on my way home from yet another devastating job interview- and there it was, shining benignly up at me, faded black leather with a ringed binding.

Overcoming Writer's Block and Other Benefits of Becoming a Vocal+ Member in 2021
The eager, excited writer in me was defeated by a full time job, a challenging marriage that began when I was only 18 years old, parenthood and a very abrupt divorce. Did you hear that? Marriage at 18....

25 – A Look Back in Time
Hi. This is me... ... In case you're stumbling across this post and don't know who I am. Today, I am turning 25 years old. The big two-five. That makes me a Pisces; I read something recently that said a Pisces' 25th year of life is one of their lucky years! Who knows if that's true, but what's wrong with a little blind faith?

Bored in lockdown? 21 ways to make the most out of staying at home!
Eat, watch Netflix, eat some more, scroll through Instagram, sleep, and do it again. Does this sound like you? Nearly a year into the pandemic, motivation is at an all-time low. Some days it feels pointless to do anything but scroll through social media, and that’s completely valid. You do not have to do a single thing right now. However, from personal experience from this past year having something to look forward to each day, having goals, new things to do and learn, has been the biggest positive from the doom and gloom of the pandemic – I’ve had time to do the things I’m always too swamped in the hustle and bustle of life to do.

6 Pandemic Habits I Hope To Keep
While my methods are maybe a little obsessive and lean toward paranoia, I choose to take the precautions that make me feel as in control as I can be during an out-of-control pandemic. Still, when all this is over, I will not miss wearing masks any time I’m outside of my house or putting my incoming mail/purchases/groceries in a holding area for 3-7 days. I will not miss hand sanitizing repeatedly. I will not miss having to stay apart from my family and friends.

My journey back to creativity
Holy freaking moly, it's been a goddamn minute. For some reason, the thing I swear I love and is my passion is the same thing I run full speed away from till I'm basically standing on another planet gasping for air thinking 'yeah, this should do'.

How to DOMINATE your new year's resolutions
Between the years 2015- 18, I had a lofty goal to lift x amount of weight before I graduated high school. I went from scrawny weakling to the "walking muscle" as my little brother liked to call me. In September 2018, I was a 155-pound athlete able to box squat 500lbs. That's 3.23 times my weight! I still remember that experience with precise detail. It's true what they say: "Champions are made when no one is watching."
