To be Happy

“Happy” was just a word for me for a long time. It wasn't until I met someone in 2020 that showed me and constantly reminded me over casual dinners and great conversation that there is no reason to stress. I didn’t get it at first. It stressed me out thinking that he could say there is no reason to stress without considering all the factors of life! What about bills? Employment? Family? Debt? The list goes on! I was constantly thinking about all my worries and concerns in the back of my mind. I realized that time with a new friend or dinner with a handsome someone are bits of happiness. I was able to shut my mind off. Ignore the bad stressful thoughts even, I admit. I didn't allow myself to think of anything that might have caused me to make my forehead tense up and wrinkle a little. I just had to breathe and enjoy the now! The NOW was wonderful! I love to travel and was in a new place and had met many great people. It all seemed perfect.

When it ended and I left to a new city in a new state. I didn't feel sadness. I felt grateful that I had spent some time in the place that made me realize I can be happy and that I can be in my place of stressless existence. My thoughts changed and my state of mind changed. I literally felt like I could do anything I wanted. I always try to meet new people. I like making friends. I am the person who will tell you my life story on the first meet! It just comes out. I'm honest and can be a great friend. If you need someone to listen or talk to, I'm there! It was being an optimist that was always a problem for me.

I came across yet another wonderful person who told me her life story. Just like me! Instant friends! It sounded like she had met some challenges in her life but the person she was, was not at all suspected to be negative or damaged or shy. She was bright and shiny and positive. She had a wonderful attitude about everything. I love meeting these kinds of people. She told me her journey to self love. Not her words but it's what it sounded like to me. I could relate because I feel like I'm on that path right now. I learned from her. She did yoga and journaled. Read books. She did meditation daily. She wasn't looking for love, but it found her. Then an opportunity for her dream career happened. It was set to start a few weeks out. It had seemed to me that once she started working on her personal bubble of happiness the universe brought even more fantastic things into her life like love and opportunity.

Boom. That simple. Real life example was sitting right in front of me. Yes hard working dedicated people do get what they want in life. But maybe the secret is to let the bad thoughts go and only focus on the good. Constantly work on what you tell yourself in your subconscious. It matters! I just want to be happy. I am working on being a full blown optimist! All the business books agree this is the person to be. I'm an entrepreneur. Late bloomer. I wished I had started a “start my own business” state of mind when I was much younger, but better late than never right?

In the past year or two I have come across a lot of entrepreneurs and I feel like I need to level up. My first priority is to start my own business. One or two or three! The most recent entrepreneur I had met told me he started many smaller businesses that were not as successful as the one he has now. Him and his partner are up to three hundred employees! Talk about inspiration and meeting people in your life for a reason. I took every encounter as a learning experience. The first taught me to realize there was no reason to stress. He was happy and I didnt get it. I guess there is nothing to get right? Just be happy. The second, taught me that if I worked on my self happiness and realized my self worth (priceless) the universe will come together. I got book recommendations from her and started what she did. Yoga, journaling, and meditation. The third, was someone I wanted to be. He was financially independent and successful. He gave book recommendations as well. His life and mindset are what all the books say to do. Take care of yourself, positivity, constantly learn, grow daily, be organized, keep moving, set priorities, set clear goals, and neat to name a few.

2021 is going to be a great year. Stay tuned for my journey to happiness, wealth, and financial independence.
