Time Traveler

Time traveling

By Ghulam MurtazaPublished 3 years ago 2 min read

John had always been fascinated with history. As a child, he would spend hours poring over his grandfather's old books, learning about the great events that shaped the world. But as he grew older, his fascination turned to obsession. He longed to go back in time, to witness those events for himself, to see if history truly happened the way it was recorded. And so, he dedicated his life to the study of time travel.

Finally, after years of research and experimentation, John had created a time machine. He stepped inside and set the dial for the year 1865, the day of Abraham Lincoln's assassination. He wanted to witness the event firsthand, to see if there was any truth to the rumors that the assassin, John Wilkes Booth, had not acted alone.

John materialized in the balcony of Ford's Theatre, just as Lincoln was delivering his speech. He watched in awe as the president spoke, his voice ringing out through the theater. And then, just as John had feared, he saw Booth slip out of the shadows and fire his gun.

Without thinking, John leaped from the balcony and tackled Booth to the ground. The two men wrestled for control of the gun, and in the chaos, Lincoln was able to escape. But as John looked into Booth's eyes, he realized that he had made a terrible mistake. He had altered history, and he had no idea what the consequences would be.

John quickly returned to his own time, but he could not shake the feeling that something was wrong. When he turned on the news, he saw that the headlines had changed. Instead of Lincoln's assassination, the lead story was about a strange man who had disrupted the play and attacked an actor.

John knew then that he had to go back and set things right. He returned to the time machine and set the dial for 1865 once again. But this time, he arrived too late. Lincoln was dead, and Booth was on the run. John tried to capture him, but he was too late. Booth had vanished into the night, and history had been forever altered.

John returned to his own time, but he found that everything had changed. The world was a darker place, filled with violence and hatred. He tried to warn people about what had happened, but no one believed him. They thought he was crazy, or worse, a liar.

John spent the rest of his life trying to undo the damage he had done. He traveled back in time again and again, trying to set things right, but no matter what he did, the world never returned to the way it was before. In the end, John realized that he had been foolish to try to alter history. He had only made things worse.

And so, he destroyed his time machine and lived out the rest of his days in obscurity. But he never forgot the lesson he had learned. History was not something to be changed, but to be studied and learned from. And no matter how much he longed to witness those great events for himself, he knew that the consequences of altering them could be catastrophic.
