Things To Do During Quarantine
Getting stir crazy and don't know what to do with all your free time?

Quarantine really sucks. Being away from friends and family can be tough. Even us introverts are getting a little stir crazy. I've made a list of things to try doing during all this extra time I have due to Covid-19. I think some of you may need some ideas too, so here are some things I have on my list.
1. Learn something new. In my boredom I've started googling things like online courses just to see what's out there, and let me tell you, there is a lot out there. All kinds of topics can be studied online either in an online class or just on your own. Even just learn some DIY stuff. If there's something you have been wanting to learn about, now is definitely the time! There are even some free online courses on all kinds of topics. Go ahead, look around, there's something for everyone.
2. Try writing something. It could be an article, review, story, or just a journal entry. Writing is a great way to express yourself and just get things off your chest. Plus everyone's got a story in them. You could even start a blog and share some of your work with the rest of us! If you're already a blogger, keep blogging!
3. Do some arts and crafts. Do you have a craft project you've been meaning to do or finish? Or have you been trying to find some time to just draw or paint? I know I have lots of artsy stuff I've been putting off. Lets dig out those old projects and get crafty!
4. Read a book. I know everyone is probably telling you this, but seriously, it's a good way to keep yourself focused on something other than being quarantined. So, are there any books on your shelf you still haven't read, or audio books you haven't gotten around to listening to yet? Go check; I'll wait. Found something? Great! I'm working on reading some of my many neglected books, too.
5. Explore the musical world. We all listen to music, but I know some of us aren't very good at expanding our music libraries. There are so many talented artists out there, and you have so much time to go check them out, so do check them out! Check those "artists you might like" sections in whatever music app you prefer.
6. Self care. I know, this is another one everyone is talking about, but it's good to practice from time to time. Especially in a time like this where we're all cooped up. I know it's a stressful time and a lot of us aren't doing the best, so treat yourself to something. It does help, and it doesn't have to be a big treat. Take a nice bath, do a face mask, buy an extra thing of Oreos or some Ben and Jerry's and just get to know yourself better.
7. Look into doing some yoga and/or meditation. It's not only good for helping keep your body healthy while we're all stuck inside, it can also be very relaxing. If yoga isn't your thing, try just going for a walk and avoiding as many people as you can while you're out. I must admit I've been seriously slacking on the walking and yoga, but that's okay. You don't have to do it everyday.
8. Break out those pots and pans, and don't forget the baking stuff, too! Cook and/or bake something. Baking can be very relaxing for me. It's something to do and you get a delicious result. I mean, what's better than homemade food? Plus, going to the store is a bit scary in these self-isolation times. Check your cupboards and see what you have. There are definitely ingredients for something yummy in there, even if you don't know what. There are tons of apps and sites that will give you fun new recipes based off the stuff you already have! I listed some of the apps I've heard of below. I have yet to use any of them, but they sound exciting.
SuperCook
Allrecipes
Dinner Spinner
BigOven
America's Test Kitchen.
I hope this gave you some ideas for things to do to make self isolation more interesting. Stay home and stay safe everyone!
