These 10 Life Truths Have Never Led Me Astray
A quietly powerful guide to staying grounded in a loud world
1. Start Here: “How Am I Feeling?”
When was the last time you asked yourself that?
We tend to live in our heads. When problems show up, we go straight to logic, bypassing the body’s wisdom.
But when you drop into your felt-sense, you often know the answer. You can feel it in your chest.
It may not be easy. It may not be logical. But it’s honest.
As often as you can, ask:
How am I feeling?
Then trust the answer. It’s speaking in a language beyond words.
2. Nobody Knows You Better Than You
People will always try to tell you who to be.
Be more this. Less that. Some of this. None of that.
But if you know something is right for you, and someone tells you it isn’t they are not right.
It’s okay to listen, reflect, and even shift perspectives.
But in the end, you know your truth better than anyone else.
Own that.
3. You’re Not Missing Out
FOMO is a trap.
The world moves fast. People go out, post the highlight reel, make you feel like staying in is a sin.
But staying in is cool. Reading is cool. Stillness is cool.
There will always be another party. There won’t always be this night, this version of you, this peace.
Choose what resonates now. You’re not missing out you’re just being present.
4. Remember the Future
While being present is beautiful, don’t forget the arc of your life.
Every moment is building something. Make sure it’s something you want.
There’s a difference between instant gratification and deep fulfillment.
Netflix might make you feel good for hours.
Working on your craft might make you feel whole for life.
Aim for the kind of happiness that echoes.
5. Recognize Love Within Yourself
The first time you fall in love, you think it’s because of the other person.
The second time, you think it’s because you found a better person.
The third time, you realize it was you.
You had love inside you all along.
Love isn’t about perfect people.
It’s about present moments. Open hearts. Non-attachment.
To touch with appreciation, not expectation.
To witness with curiosity, not control.
Love is yours to feel. Don’t wait for permission.
6. Honesty Always Wins
There are three ways to live:
1. From the mind: logical, strategic, but disconnected.
2. From the heart: emotional, intuitive, but sometimes chaotic.
3. From alignment: were mind and heart meet in truth.
Honesty is the bridge.
Speak your mind. Feel your heart. Walk your path.
When both parts of you are aligned, you’re no longer just surviving the waves of life.
You’re surfing them.
7. Eat, Drink, and Live Healthfully
Most people don’t know what they’re doing when it comes to food.
So learn for yourself. Your body is your first home.
Eat clean. Stay hydrated. Move gently. Rest deeply.
When your body feels good, your energy becomes magnetic.
Treat yourself like something worth caring for because you are.
8. Value Both Depth and Breadth
Some people master one skill. Others explore everything.
You don’t have to choose. Do both.
Learn one thing deeply. But stay curious about everything else.
It’s at the crossroads of vertical mastery and horizontal exploration where magic happens.
Innovation. Creativity. Connection.
That’s where your unique genius lives.
9. Be the Mayor
Everywhere you go, act like the mayor.
Smile. Connect. Be open.
Not because you’re trying to get something just because you’re human, and so is everyone else.
Drop the ego. Stay curious.
You never know who you’re meeting or what role they’ll play in your story.
Kindness travels farther than you think.
10. Follow Your Dream (Even If It’s Quiet)
We hear “follow your dream” and picture quitting our job, moving to Bali, or getting famous overnight.
But following your dream doesn’t have to be loud.
It can look like working on your craft after your shift.
It can look like writing a song no one hears but you.
It can look like staying true to yourself when no one’s watching.
Your dream is yours because you love it not because it gets applause.
So don’t stop doing what you love. Even in small ways, especially when no one’s clapping.
That’s the real dream.
Thanks for reading 🤍
I write to remind you that you’re already enough.
And that you can always come back to yourself.
