Hi everyone, my name is Lee. I am an artist from Briton Ferry, South Wales UK. I have started a project called, The Wood Fairies Project.

I started this project around 20 months ago as a distraction from my fibromyalgia and nerve damage pains throughout my body, and making these beautiful little wood fairies helps me to concentrate on something other than pain and the response from everyone who finds them and knowing that I might be the reason for making someone smile for the first time that day is priceless. This project is most definitely making a difference to the lives of the people who find them. It's not just children who love these, it's the parents too, they contact me to say, "Thank you very much" for making their day and for putting a smile on their faces.

I get loads of messages from people telling me that they are going outside in nature especially to try and find one. The stories I get told about how much finding one of my wood fairies has meant to them is so heart warming and touching—just knowing that I'm helping them smile. ☺ Keep your eyes open when you're out walking because you never know where they will appear. 😊 When you find one of my beautiful little wood fairies, you'll enjoy looking for more. While you are looking for them, you look more closely and you get to see just how beautiful and magnificent nature is.

Each one of my woodfairies is unique and has its own personality, I make them from sticks, acorns, conkers, sycamore seeds, leaves, flowers, petals, and other items from nature, so no two could be identical.

Here is a photo of one of the ones left beside neath canal and as you can see, there were two very inquisitive swans that came to see what I was doing. Here is another one left down by port Talbot Beach. The ones I leave in public are from The Wood Fairies in Public Collection by Lee F Jones © 2017.

Because of so many requests, I started making ones that would last for years and loads that are very personalised from photos sent to me with the person's request. And the money from these go to various charities so they can help even more people.
