The "Right" Time

Spoiler: There Is No "Right" Time

“There is no right time. There is only time and what we choose to do with it.”

As I sat outside on the porch, drinking my iced matcha tea, with my dog at my side and read these words this morning, they truly sunk in. They were a complete solidification of how I have been feeling these recent days.

I’ve always had this plan for myself and, just like everyone else right now I'm sure, the plan hasn’t totally played out as expected. Okay, not even close if we’re being honest here. However in some ways it's even better. Then in other ways a bit terrifying. Some didn't make any sense at first but now I am grateful. Grateful for it all. Life is weird like that, huh? We are all constantly waiting for the “right time” or “when we feel ready”. My plan was to continue with my full time job until I had enough money saved to fully and wholeheartedly pursue my yoga business. Well let's be honest, when was I actually going to feel ready? What does ready even feel like?

I have always been a believer that we all end up where we are meant to be and when we are meant to be there. And that every decision we make ultimately leads us down the path that we are destined. I also believe that life or per my beliefs, God, gives us little nudges or signs or maybe even just completely strips the ground from beneath your feet until you have no other choice, if that is what you truly need. And well apparently, I needed that. I am certain we've all been there before or will at least experience this reality at some point in life. Whether it be from a relationship, a job, career path, living situation, whatever the case; sometimes we know in our gut, our deep intuition, that either it is or isn't right. This issue is that generally we are too afraid or too uncertain to take the chance.

Let’s be real though, following intuition takes practice. We’re all born with it, yes, but just like any other skill you need to learn how to get good at it. Sometimes it comes easy, other times it isn't so clear but each time we learn. One aspect I believe or at least hope that we have all gained from this pandemic is a major shift in perspective. A wake up call if you will. We had to get uncomfortable to see that this time is ours and we have just been waiting... but waiting for what? Now is the time. Now is the time to be present. Now is the time to make our health a priority. Now is the time to speak up. Now is the time to take action. Now is the time to live. Now is the time to be better and to do better.

I choose to use this time given to me to pursue the things I am most passionate about, that feed into the best versions of myself and in turn produce more good into this world. I know and I trust that I am capable of everything I need to achieve my goals. I know and I trust that each choice I make can only be a step in the right direction, wherever that may be, because in the end it all connects exactly the way it was meant to.

So I guess the only question to ask yourself is... what are you waiting for? Because if you're waiting until you are ready you'll be waiting the rest of your life.
