The little lamp
How a little lamp saved a whole village.

The Little Lamp
“Even a small light can guide in the dark.”
---
The Lonely Lamp
In a small, quiet village, there was a little lamp.
The lamp was made of brass and glass.
It was not big. It was not shiny.
It just stood on a wooden table in the corner of a small house.
The lamp always wanted to do something good.
It wanted to give light and help people.
But most of the time, it was not used.
In the day, the sun gave light to everyone.
The lamp was not needed.
At night, the moon and stars gave a soft glow.
Sometimes people forgot about the lamp.
Sometimes they went to sleep early without lighting it.
The lamp thought sadly,
“I am small. Nobody cares about me. I cannot help anyone. I am useless.”
These thoughts made the lamp unhappy every day.
---
The Dark Storm
One evening, the sky grew black.
A storm was coming.
The wind blew strongly.
The rain poured down.
The clouds were thick and dark.
The moon and stars disappeared.
The fires and torches in the village were blown out by the strong wind.
In just a short time, the whole village was covered in darkness.
The people were afraid.
Children cried loudly because they could not see.
Old men and women walked slowly and fell on the wet ground.
Mothers held their babies close and worried.
Everyone felt lost in the dark.
The village, which was usually calm, was now full of fear.
---
Amina Finds the Lamp
In a small house, a kind girl named Amina was watching from her window.
She saw the people outside.
She saw the children crying and the old people stumbling.
She felt sad and wanted to help.
But her own house was also dark.
She could not see much.
She looked around the room and her eyes fell on the little lamp sitting on the table.
Amina quickly picked it up.
She lit it with care.
The little lamp’s flame rose.
It gave out a small, clear, and warm light.
The lamp was surprised.
For the first time, it was being used at the right moment.
---
The Light in the Dark
Amina opened her door and stepped into the storm with the lamp.
The people saw the small circle of light moving in the darkness.
It looked tiny, but it gave them hope.
Slowly, they began to walk toward the light.
Amina lifted the lamp higher.
She walked slowly through the streets.
The people followed her step by step.
The children stopped crying because they could see again.
The old people walked safely without falling.
The mothers felt safe holding their babies.
The storm was still strong.
The rain still fell.
The wind still blew.
But the little lamp kept shining bravely.
It did not go out.
It pushed back the darkness around it.
---
Everyone Becomes Safe
After some time, Amina reached the center of the village.
From there, she showed the way to the homes of the people.
She walked with them until every family was safe inside their houses.
At last, the storm became weaker.
The wind grew soft.
The rain slowed down.
The heavy clouds moved away.
Then the moon and stars came back.
The night was no longer dark.
The village was safe again—
because of one little lamp.
---
The Lesson Learned
The villagers were thankful.
They hugged Amina for her kindness.
But they also looked at the little lamp with love.
They said,
“This lamp is small, but tonight it was our guide. It saved us from the darkness.”
The little lamp felt something new inside.
Its heart glowed brighter than its flame.
It finally understood:
“Even a small light can help many people.
Even small things can do great work.”
From that day, the lamp never felt useless.
It did not wish to be the sun.
It did not wish to be the stars.
It was happy to be itself—
a little lamp with a brave and kind light.
And whenever another storm came,
the villagers always lit the little lamp first.
They trusted it.
They knew that even in the darkest night,
the little lamp would show them the way.!!!!!!!
