The Demon with Blue Eyes

A Haunted Mansion, A Dangerous Truth, and the Blue Eyes that Followed

It was those blue eyes, always staring at me in the dark..."

It was a winter night when the world seemed unusually silent. My friend, Timur, who usually boasted about his bravery, was strangely quiet. We had come back to our old village, "Khark Basti," for the holidays — a place where mobile signals didn't reach, but tales of demons and spirits were etched on every wall.

Next to my aunt’s house was an old, abandoned mansion. Everyone said it was haunted by "the demon with blue eyes." Timur always laughed at such stories, but I had always felt a strange pull towards that mansion — as if something inside was calling out to me.

One night, Timur insisted we go there. I tried to stop him, but he wouldn’t listen.

"Are you scared?" "No, it's just… I don’t like the idea of going there."

"Then let’s go, tonight we’ll prove that all these stories are lies."

We grabbed a flashlight and headed out. The door to the mansion was rusty but wide open. As we stepped inside, a foul stench greeted us — a mix of dirt, blood, and something that can’t be described in words.

We turned on the flashlight. In front of us was an old mirror. Timur, with a smirk, said, "See, no demon here!" I replied, "Shh, stop joking."

That’s when I saw it — a single blue eye gleaming in the mirror.

We quickly turned around... nothing.

"Timur! Did you see that?"

"What? I didn’t see anything."

But I was sure I had seen something.

We climbed the creaky stairs. They groaned as if someone had been walking on them before us. Finally, we reached a room with a rusty lock on the door — but it was open.

The door creaked and slowly opened by itself.

Inside was a decrepit bed, torn sheets, and a blood-written message on the wall: “I am awake.”

Timur laughed. "This is the work of a madman."

Just then, the window slammed shut. We both jumped in shock.

"That’s enough, let’s leave." I urged.

As we turned to leave, the door slammed shut behind us.

And then, in the mirror, a figure appeared — a tall shadow, dressed in white, but with eyes that were so blue, it was as if the sky itself were burning.

"You woke me up..." it spoke, but its voice echoed inside our heads, like a whistle in the brain.

Timur screamed and tried to open the door, but it wouldn’t budge.

"I will only spare the one who speaks the truth." "Who... who are you?" I asked, my voice trembling.

"I am the one trapped in every door. In every lie, in every pride. You mocked my existence. Now, you shall pay."

Timur collapsed to the ground, his body stiffening. His eyes turned completely white. I screamed, "Let him go, we were wrong!"

"You saw my eye… now you will see my revenge."

Its finger reached towards my forehead — the touch felt like fire. I couldn’t breathe. Just then, a loud bang shook the room.

My eyes opened. I was in the hospital.

Aunt was sitting by my side. "You’ve been unconscious for two days. We found Timur unconscious behind the mosque."

"Was it… the demon with the blue eyes?"

Aunt’s eyes widened with fear. "What? You saw it too?"

"Too?" I was startled.

"Son, everyone who went into that mansion… they said the same thing: Blue eyes… and the mirror… then they either went mad or died."

I rushed to the mirror to look at myself. One of my eyes had turned faintly blue.
