The Day Menopause And Depression Shut Me Down
Fighting Menopause and Depression can shut your body, mind, heart, and soul down. As a weapon, it will shut you down. As a tool, it can’t!

As we age, everything in our bodies changes, including our thinking. Our lives will be better or worse depending on how we lived when we were younger.

For me, I love kindness, so I give it. I give the good I want. None of us are prepared for aging. Each human lives their life differently. Aging doesn’t affect all of us in the same way. Some of us can fight it alone. Others need the help and support of family and friends. Some are ashamed and fear the changes, so they tell no one, suffering silently. Many just don’t know what to do.
We must live and survive in any way we can. We must be aware of the heaven or hell raging in our lives and adapt while finding ways to handle it. First, we must be aware of what is happening in our lives. That knowledge will help us make the best decisions.
Battling depression is no easy feat. Add aging/Menopause, and the pain that accompanies it never goes away. Shove in my High Sensitivity Personality, and hell will be completed.
Add all of the above, and I have days when I shut down—I mean, all of me shut down. I don’t want to move, eat, think, write, or talk. I want to go into a room without windows and stay there. My only moving organ is my heart. I can’t stop it. It tells me that life must go on, no matter what my emotions say or do. Then, it shows me the value and beauty of opening up.

For other women, the menopausal transition can bring various symptoms, including hot flashes, night sweats, trouble sleeping, joint and muscle discomfort, pain during sex, moodiness and irritability, forgetfulness, difficulty concentrating, or a combination of these.

Compared with White women, Black women are more likely to have an early onset of menopause, experience more menopausal symptoms, and have symptoms for longer, while Asian women are less likely to suffer from menopausal symptoms.
Damn, really. How? Why? Isn’t being black in a cruel, racist world enough? Life has to punish us more.
Some women have no or mild menopausal symptoms.
My symptoms are not mild. They are shutting me down!

Open or close. I must live. You must live. We must survive!

I must go back deep within myself to find the strength to stand up. Then fight again to stay up. There is no going back without pain.

Humans have three ages: a Turning Point Age, a Happy Age, and Their Real Age. I returned to my Turning Point Age. It was the time when my life turned, and I had to be strong. That was my strongest point. That’s why our past is vital to our future. I kept my past alive without pain or regrets. I used my regrets as lessons, and the pain melted away. I go back for strength.

Life showed me that Menopause and depression are tools, not weapons. I was using them as a weapon, and they shut me down.

Now, I will use them as a tool. Then, life showed me that being alive is a gift.

So, for all of you out there fighting Menopause and Depression, go back to your Turning Point age or your Happy Point Age for hope, strength, purpose, why, how, etc. A reason is there, find it!
Your life is a gift. Treat it that way. Don’t allow sadness to shut you down!

Yes, for love, life, and living!
If your heart could speak, what would it say?
P.S. To all of the females out there, please don’t suffer in silence. Write about it. Helping others will heal you!
