Metaphorical Thinking
In his book “moonwalking with Einstein” Joshua Foer, a journalist, sets out to become the world memory champion and on that journey, he explains how our brains store memories. In the process, he stumbles onto one of the most important ways that our brains function, association, and metaphor.

Inspired To Persevere
I would like to take this essay challenge opportunity to write about one of my professors from my undergraduate studies who was and is truly inspirational to me. Lisa Gralnick taught me far more than metalsmithing, she taught me to be persistent, to persevere no matter how many times I failed, and to never stop striving to achieve my goals in life.

The Everyday Type of Woman We All Need
We were about three days into a world-renowned life and wealth mastery retreat, traveling over 12 hours to the beautiful islands of Fiji in mid-July of 2018. We were sweaty, musty, hungry, emotional, and so keenly aware of how our bodies were processing the fast and juice cleanse that started on day one of this retreat. This was only one of the amazing (and very smelly) portions of the retreat.

As above so below
We are living in promising times of scientific discovery and civil innovation. Harnessing the inexhaustible power of the sun through nuclear fusion, for instance, opens a doorway for a cleaner planet as well as improvement in the efficiency and capability of humanity in all aspects. As modern science supports, the material that comprises our bodies is traceable to the birth of the stars. And every moving part in the cosmic highway, from torrential weather to a mere neurological impulse, reverberates from the inception of the entire universe. The Hermetica, texts as old as the calendar states “As above so below, as within, so without, as the universe so the soul”. It's not too farfetched to consider it intuitive. What I gather is that like the limitless resource that created the planets, our spirits can also run on a renewable resource. Such a foundation is what we find in the examples of strong, achieving individuals that push boundaries of human capability, such as astronauts.

Taking the Plunge
I know this is probably overdone and over thought but it does not make this any less scary. The fact that I am leaving the world of a regular paychecks, health insurance, a daily routine, to go back to school in hopes that I will be able to change my career path to something I am happier with, but perhaps not quite the paycheck I want? To leave and ensure I will be in debt come graduation day and hope to god I find a job in this economy (hopefully post Covid-19 crisis). Unfathomable!

Women Who Inspire
Let me tell you about a woman who not only inspires me, she is an inspiration to many. I have known her since 2003 and since our initial acquaintance, she has not ceased to be a source of strength, encouragement and imeasureable enthusiasm no matter what the circumstances faced. Her name is Dagne Barton. Dagne has a bachelors in Business Administration and a Masters in Non Profit Leadership. She is a consummate professional as Executive Assistant. Dagne is a wife and mother, sister to many. She has devoted her life to her family and to the calling on her life.
