Don't Give Up
I must say... the last few months have been very tough. I went through a lot of things. I was very depressed and unhappy. Yesterday I decided to put that all behind me and start fresh. Its okay if we fall sometimes we just need to get right back up. Brand new, clear mind and head, really try getting out of my head.

More than author.
Introduction We all evolve as we learn and grow over the years and for me it is something I welcome. I am at a point in my life where I am really finding myself again. I am rediscovering what makes me happy and that is writing. I am learning there is more to writing than what I grew up believing or maybe it is what I was taught to think. This article is about how I began writing when I was young. What I am learning about writing and how I am evolving into more than an author.

Being Great Again
All that matters is what we do now, with mapping out our future from the past we leave behind. Being born in the heart of Brooklyn, NY, where I became a man before being a man, been the greatest experience of my life, working hard, mapping out and learning what’s wrong and what seems to be right. Looking back now, shows how right everyone has been for me, because anything someone do or say to me would always lead me in the right direction, whether it’s bad or good in their case. I traveled to many places, learning many things over the past and I tend to keep growing to a better space in my life” in spite of” all the evils that follows along with hate/hatred and cruelty. Over the years, I became a potential entrepreneur/business, helped out many souls, whether they listen, believed it or took what I gave and ran. “Won’t stop me” I gave my best advices, best attention and best attitudes, not another soul would stop me from being Great Again! My name is Donta J. Norman, come Nike’ with me, Life matters! It matters to those that matters, but the truth of any story is that no matter what life brings, pushing for the goals you peruse remember your life matters just as much. The harder we push to your dreams, the better your thoughts in life will bring you. From the moment you are born, everyone is always giving you advice and telling you how you should live your life. I always listen to others' advice, but I do not always follow it. There has been one piece of advice I have followed since the day it has been given to me and will continue to follow for the rest of my life.

One Foot in Front of the Other...
We’re now basking in the “joy” of our another lockdown here in London. The first one, once we’d all realised it wasn’t the end of the world, wasn’t too bad. Well, I say that now, but at the time I was too afraid to tell anyone we were having a lovely time not having to face the human rapids of central London, it was the sunniest Spring on record (the washing actually dried in one day!) and there were finally enough hours in the day to work on our own projects. But some friends & colleagues weren’t coping too well with the isolation and constantly present fears. While some of us were glued to screens for productive purposes, others couldn’t tear themselves away from bigger screens and those ever-addictive formulas that make good TV binge-worthy. There were clearly people who were running for the first time ever (“heavers” they were affectionately labelled and our masks were donned as they huffed & huffed toward us). Marathon TV or YouTube sessions don’t get the blood flowing, nor the mind cleared, and so consequently there were a good number of us who felt less & less comfortable as that first lockdown progressed.

The misunderstood child
I wasn't sure about where I was or why, all I knew was that my life went from cozy, comfortable and loving to cold, confusing and forgotten. At the age of 4 my mother came to the united states. Soon after, my father decided we would join her and that is how our journey began. Everyone spoke about opportunity and wealth; a better future for themselves and their children. The United States of America was where everyone came to get rich and famous. Anyone brave enough to begin the journey and make it was a God in the eyes of everyone who stayed behind. No one ever spoke of the price to pay and sacrifices made for daring to dream of a "better life".

I am Talaya
This article is just an introduction of who I am. My name is Talaya Lightbourne. Writing has always been my passion since the age of 16. I was in the 10th grade when I stood in front of the classroom, trembling with anxiety to read my first poem in front of all my classmates. I knew poetry was my passion because writing was always therapy for me. Besides me writing my hobbies are painting, reading, and watching popping pimple videos ha-ha. Growing up writing was always a way for me to express my feelings. I still have those same journals from a little child. My second passion in life is art. Art has always been my second love in life. Life is art and we are just painting the canvas. When I entered middle school, we had secondary classes we called “electives” and every elective from 6th grade-12th grade was art. My favorite part of my day going to school was going to art class. In art class I did not have to focus on reading or subtracting numbers, I could just do what I what I which was create. I still have all my paintings from art class stored away to keep for memories. When I graduated high school, I wanted to be an Art Director. I wanted to enroll into The Art Institute in Virginia Beach. Art Directors have the creative control to direct music videos, magazine shoots, etc. I did not get to go to art school to be an Art Director, but currently I have written 6 poetry books and counting. Currently I started this community to empower women and teach women to go after their dreams. I believe that if you wish to achieve your dreams you have to what is required to get there. One of my favorite hobbies is to swim. Water is my element, and my astrological sign is a Pisces what a coincidence ha-ha. I love swimming, fun fact I was scared to swim as a child and anything with loud noises. When I grew up all those fears disappeared, and I was fearless for the most part. During the summer I spent my time off from school at summer camp. Summer camp were filled with many memories from going to the park playing kick ball, capture the flag, to going to Durham baseball games. I have accomplished a few things in my life so far, I graduated Southside Community College with an associate degree in Information Systems Technology. I am proud to have accomplish graduating with a major in IST. Technology has become innovative to the world we live in today, so having degree in technology was important for me to accomplish. Shortly after graduating college, at age 21 I started back writing poetry again. Poetry as I told you was my passion and first love. I wrote my first book called “The Rebirth: Vol.1”, which talked about rising from the ashes like a phoenix. When I wrote my first book it felt like my purpose in life was finally found. I struggled for a while to figure out what my purpose was in life, but now I know my purpose is to create. I create through writing and expression which has brought so much healing and growth into my life. I have been through a lot in life and overcame many obstacles. Many obstacles that I experienced many people don’t know about them. I always been a private person that doesn’t share a lot, because it has been hard to trust people. I hope you enjoy this introduction of who I am. I am Talaya.

Walking through darkness to learn from the power of pain
We all have key moments in life that will determine our direction, especially when these moments are defined through pain. Pain can transform you and give you a new perspective and pathway in life. My mantra of strength to overcome pain came after a deeply traumatic accident when my passion for international level horse riding quickly became a fight to survive. To live through pain can be a long process of self-discovery and resilience. When you have come to anticipate that you have managed to get all your ducks in a row, only for a sudden tide change to send all those little ducks in different directions completely, life forces you to learn new perspectives.
