happiness
Happiness, defined; things that help you find happiness, keep it, and share it with others.
It Happens Backwards
“So, tell me, how did you do it?” “Do what, Skye?” “Have you been a part of this conversation, Chris?” The voice was pointed, but riddled with a humor only they could share. He looked around, as if trying to find the other person in the room he must have been talking to this whole time. It was part of their game. What anything became when words left their mouths directed towards one another. He knew Chris had been paying attention; far more than most. To things like the sadness in a waitress’ eyes when her mind was elsewhere, or the momentary hesitation in the breath of someone on the verge of saying something before they chose not to.

Spontaneous Euphoria
Carmen sighed hopelessly sitting at her kitchen table wrapped snuggly in her grandmother’s floral crochet blanket. The falling leaves brushed against her window as her windchimes danced in the crisp Fall wind. She was finishing a lackluster TV series finale to an already lackluster series. But, she and her younger brother got hooked on it a few years back. They used to watch it together every Friday until he went away to school. Now they would watch it when they could and text each other reaction memes and gifs. Unfortunately, she still wasn’t finding any inspiration even after watching the shows her friends recommended. She had been in a daze as of lately, maybe it was the somber cloudy days keeping her on pause. However, she had to find a way to resume as she had something important planned for this Thursday. She needed a solid story to write for a creative writing event at her former middle school to inspire students on the importance of finding their passion for writing. Yet, recently she was struggling to find hers. Everyone, she would usually call was busy with their problems. So she thought of an old friend, one who used to give her inspiration, David.

The Freedom to Forgive... especially YOURSELF
#ForgivenessFriday #Freedomtoforgive #FreedomFridays I have had only a handful of mentors/mentorships throughout the years, however, this post, in particular, is inspired by a former mentor of mine, and a friend, Adam who actually helped me get my start and entry, so to speak, into the fitness and wellness field, via personal mentorship (check out https://rawlifeyoga.com/). He made a post yesterday of his own, regarding living and acknowledging his own skills, talents while living his most open and honest life. It sparked in me a question in how I could live my own most honest, productive, passionate, and wealthy life, while learning to love myself unconditionally again (and others, just with the right boundaries this time LOL) and live to my best and highest potential.

In Imitation
Curling, twirling, twisting, patting and pulling. Making sure every strand is in its place. We arrive disheveled and unsure. We leave beautiful and confident, with heads held high, the sun creating what looked like glistening drops of dew on a freshly greased scalp.

A Tuesday At The Docs
It was a Tuesday afternoon and I decided to go down to the docs. I liked sitting at the edge of the docs and watching the ducks swim gracefully in the water. It was very peaceful there. Since I finished school, I had a lot of time on my hands to write in my favorite little black notebook. I took my softcover notebook and began to write down all the things I wanted to do in my life. Everyone expected me to get a job as soon as I finished university, but I had other plans. I wanted to get away. Travel. See the world. Most importantly, I wanted to start a life with him. The only problem with getting away was the fact that I had no money. Well, not enough money to start a life. There I was sitting with my feet hanging off the docs when an old man approached me.

Substance of Dreams
At 2:06 of that morning I experienced death. It was swift: a car accident on the highway on a rainy day. A motorcyclist, mounted on a jet black bike with matching outfit, came around my left. They matched my speed for a moment, turning to look toward the center of my dashboard in the direction of a little black notebook before speeding up. I caught the semi barreling toward me out of my periphery just as I turned my head back towards the road and slammed on the brakes. The wheels did their best to grip the wet pavement but it was no use. I could feel the momentum of the car, completely out of my control, as it skidded recklessly toward the semi. It was swift.

Bell's Angels
Ralph craned his neck, squinting down at the town below, from the shade of his porch, wondering what that murmuring noise was. As the sound grew from a rustle to a clattering din, he walked to the street to try to figure out what was happening. Shading his eyes against the summer sun he saw the darndest sight. The hearse from McCaffrey’s Funeral home was rolling away from St. Anthony’s Church followed by what looked like every kid in town on a bike. But what was making that racket he still wondered.

The little black notebook
Catherine was galloping on her horse on the beautiful Australian land, the gorgeous orange sunset was behind her, but what she could think of was that how much she hates the mud on her clothes, and that smell of the cows that she has to live with every single day. She was a hard-worker. She grew up learning the work morale from her father whom she dearly loved. But since he passed away, she didn’t think there’s a reason for her to stay. She’s always wanted to travel, and now she couldn’t think of anything else but to get away once and for all, and forget about everything that has been too much for her to take. She didn’t have cash to spend on that lifestyle, so she was considering to sell the farm and move.
