Happiness, defined; things that help you find happiness, keep it, and share it with others.
What if I told you that your Life has no Purpose?
I have lived through bouts of depression and pretty serious anxiety for about two decades. I have had months where I considered ending my life myself because the pain and burden of my mind can be overwhelming. I never have done it, obviously. Partially because my Christian upbringing taught me to fear the consequence of that. And partly because I don't think my family could handle the paperwork. But this most recent spiral had me deeply questioning everyone and everything I knew. Why am I trying to stay alive?

Visualization: Will It Actually Improve Your Life?
I wandered through a courtyard across the street from my apartment. On my left was the Lindsey-Flanigan Courthouse. On my right was the Van Cise-Simonet Detention Center. Sometimes, when I walked nearby at night, I heard the inmates playing basketball.

A little Merlot
My whole life I was to tall. To tall for dresses and shorts to tall for doors and unfortunately a lot of tree branches in Highschool. But most disappointing, to tall for most men. I was 5 foot 11 almost 6 feet. I could hardly find jeans that lasted let alone a relationship. I tried bars but that means getting up to dance. Or if I walk in last for the blind date even dating profiles turned up pointless. At the weirdos boosted my ego . Is that sad? No, no.

CovidMonster19
This is a monster that does not care about race, age, gender, sexual orientation, values, religion, all the things that differentiate us, and make us who we are. It is looming right in the air, waiting for you to forget to sanitize your hands or wear a mask. The predator invisible and the prey at his mercy. Never giving up or surrendering. And if he gets you, no idea how hard he will hit you, will you be able to rehabilitate in a few days or will it result in your death, becoming just like the thing that brought you to this outcome... invisible.

Here I Am
There’s a dazzling cardinal living in my backyard. It’s bright red feathers streak through the trees as it meanders between branches and occasionally lands on my fence. It sings a beautiful melody and the other birds echo back. I wonder what they’re saying, what the chirps of their language mean and what they’re constantly chitchatting about. As a multitude of expressions fly out of their beaks, I don’t doubt it’s important, even necessary for their neighbors to hear. Or maybe, birds are just big gossipers, communicating what they see below, always searching for predators or potential food sources.

How the Pandemic Renewed My Passion
I think many people believe my hobby is a pastime reserved for retired people living on the beach. Even though we live in a world where we can land a Rover on Mars, there are some who still doubt metal detectors can find anything of value in the ground. That's definitely not me.
