Is Optimism Hard-Wired? 6 Ways to See the Glass as Half Full
I got a call from my best friend last night. Of course, it's not uncommon to have a challenge, and a best friend in the world. However, it is a challenge, strictly speaking, for me to feel good about myself and the way I look at life.

Why It’s Okay to Live a “Boring” Life If That’s What You Want
A lot of people know from their childhood, what they are supposed to be when they grow up." I'm at a variety of times to be an archaeologist, paleontologist, a veterinary surgeon, a well-known musician, well-known actor, director, actor, studio, singer, composer, singing teacher, choir director, an unknown actor, director, film editor, and literary element which is the supervisor acted as an alpaca farmer and the cattle breeders.

Let the Energy of Unhappiness Power Your Purpose
In the summer of 2007, as it was, it was just awful. I would like to find something positive to say about this, but I actually can't think of anything. I was a part-time, the economy was on the decline, it was in a shame spiral of depression and self-loathing.

Good News: Bad Moods Don’t Have to Be So Bad
How many times have I heard, "Follow your heart", or, "Let me be your tour guide"? Expect a lot of work. This is generally good advice; it is, without a doubt, better to please your feeling, more obsessively, that other people think this is what it should be.

Created With a Hook
It was 11 years ago that I took on Crocheting. I remember a time long ago when I was a small child, sitting at my mom’s feet while she sat in her chair under the lamp, her hooks and embroidery scissors on the chair’s arm, her legs crossed, and blanketed over her legs was the Afghan that she was currently creating. I always wanted to learn, but my tiny hands could never wrap around the hook, hold the yarn around my fingers correctly, and work like her delicate and experienced hands did. She was able to teach me the basic stitch for me to make a chain. A long and continuous chain of yarn that I could make forever. I always wanted to learn more. How to actua;lly create something in this way.

Psychedelic
I’m sorry but I am the worst sewer knitter or crocheter than ever lived. I would LOVE to be good at crafting in a conventional sense.. in any sense .. I can knit a square sew on a button dodgily. That’s as far as it’s ever gone, much as I’d like it to be different.

The Art of Joy
I stared at the image on Pinterest with the tree cutout on canvas. It was painted black with just a hint of pink scattered on the edges of the frame. I’d been painting for two years, but it was always just for me, nothing professional level, not like this sort of project. It was beautiful, but was it above my abilities?

Life's a Journey
What I know about happiness is that it comes within. No external circumstances can make us happy if we don't first focus on ourselves and what we want. Happiness comes from having a since of calm and peace no matter the situation around you. I have always been going through chaotic life events I have never been able to choose. I channel back to happiness when I am calm, present and grounded. I choose gratitude for the things I have in my life the people that make the hard times easy. I choose gratitude for having meals to eat everyday. The ability to follow my dreams makes me happy. But We only attract happiness when we find peace within ourselves. So many of us are drawn to the aspect of some external making us happy but that joy will only be temporary. Finding sex might make you happy for a moment but it will pass. Same with buying that fancy sports car sure its amazing but the happiness will be fleeting and no last. Chasing dreams and people might make you happy or chasing money. The moment you reach a goal your happiness will be gone and you will be on to the next aspect of your journey. Even love cant make us happy. Because it is nobody's job to make you happy but yourself. That's the thing in society we latch onto these things that create temporary happiness. On earth we are drawn to flashy signs and colors anything to escape the pain and hold on to the moment. Happiness isn't running away from your pain. Its acceptance that none of us are perfect. We are all human and we all carry burdens. Finding happiness is loving yourself despite the pain. Loving all parts of you the good and bad and knowing you are enough as a human being. Happiness is even when you breakup with someone knowing your worth and that you are enough. Happiness is the little things and moments that make life worth while. Following your dreams and jumping out of a plane can all bring a moment of happiness. But to make it stay its a relationship with learning to love yourself every single day. Every rejection, every hard break, every time someone hurts your pride. Choosing the love for yourself and knowing you are enough. It is surrounding yourself with people that will love all your broken pieces. Or maybe its finding one person that will love all your broken pieces. Its making every moment count and not taking them for granted. When you stop chasing life and start experiencing life you start true happiness. Happiness is connecting with your soul, knowing you have a purpose and trusting the process. And the journeys worth it as long as you love yourself every step of the way. We are all human no one is perfect. But life is short and everyone deserves to feel this pure happiness. Surround yourself with the love your soul deserves everyday

Pinking
I get my mother’s pair of pinking shears. They’re chrome plated. Weighty. Old. There’s no date on them, just a patent number stamped into the side. The original manual is still there, a little accordion of waxy paper tucked in the bottom of the cardboard box. There is no date printed there either, but the corners have gone brown with age. It suggests things to make: napkins, dish towels, dust cloths. “To supplement your supply of emergency handkerchiefs,” it says, “pink soft linens in squares.” Now, I don’t have a supply of handkerchiefs, emergency or otherwise. I have no soft linens to pink—though I am delighted by pink as a verb. The shears themselves look like crafting scissors ate a sawfish. Like the silver skull of an animal that doesn’t exist. Mouth lined with zigzag teeth, ready to chew through any fabric I could feed it. We are both hungry for a new project.

Happiness for the Soul
At the age of six, someone gave me a paint by number set for Christmas. To my family’s delight, I was not only good at it, but loved doing it. To this day, my parents still have many storage totes of all my paint by number creations. At a young age, I learned that doing any kind of art or creating gave me focus and peace and made my soul happy. My love for creating has evolved over the years, whatever it is. Whether it be making homemade cards, painting ceramics, creating acrylic pours on canvas, or taking part in any kind of art, it feeds my soul.
