How I tried to Apply a Tai Chi Principle in real life
How I Tried to Apply a Tai Chi Principle in Real Life And Why This is Beneficial for Everybody I often spend my Saturdays with my 16-year-old daughter. I always try to practise life skills that will be useful for her in the future. I usually take concepts from martial arts as they have excellent real-life applications.

Alex Proud – The Rock ‘n’ Roll Art Collector
Alex Proud – Where is all began. Alex Proud had originally followed in his father’s footsteps, taking a keen interest in art dealing and collecting, with a passion for oriental art. After an apprenticeship with a Japanese art dealer in London he opened his first gallery in 1994 selling rare Japanese prints, but a born entrepreneur, Alex Proud quickly spotted an unfulfilled niche in the market; recognising the forgotten genius of iconic rock and roll photographers who lacked a platform for their work. In 1998 he founded Proud Galleries, now respected as one of Europe’s leading photographic galleries.

How To Grow Your Comfort Hula Hoop
Back in college, I took a “women in leadership” class, and to this day, it’s one of the best courses I’ve ever taken. One of my favorite lessons was about expanding your comfort zone. The concept is pretty straight forward, essentially your comfort zone is your own personal bubble and everything within that bubble is what you’re comfortable with.

UAPB or Bust!
I left Kansas City, Missouri early one morning in August of 1973 headed to the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff with the promise of a scholarship if I passed an audition, a promise of a $500 book scholarship from a contest that I was in and placed in the top five contestants and maybe $100 that I had earned from working at a construction company as a secretary during the summer. My mom encouraged me to get on the bus and do not fear. My dad proud of me however somewhat hesitant about me leaving home wished me well. He told me you know you can call us at any time. As I turned to say good-bye, I asked, “what happens if I do not make the audition?” Both of my parents said in unison “you will!” It was a 13 hour ride to Pine Bluff on the express bus. It was a warm day and the bus was a bit stuffy. Since it was not crowded I had two seats to myself most of the way. As I stared out the window the landscape slowly changed from the hustle of the city to the tranquil peace of the country side. Many green pastures some with cows and horses and others with a goat or two grazing on the luscious green grass. This was truly an exciting time for me. On my own off to college.

A Cupcake a Day...
What did you say when you were 5 years old and an adult asked you what you wanted to be when you grew up? Was it movie star, or a rock-star, a famous athlete, or the ever-so-simple, billionaire? Whatever cutesy answer you promptly provided (and let’s be honest, changed every few days) was met with laughs or hair ruffles, never taken seriously, never considered actual career choices. As for me, I always said pastry chef.

How to Save a Life
It begins with the rising of the sun, this job, this calling of mine. The seniors will eat whenever they are fed and then happily go back to sleep, but the puppies - oh, the puppies! They awaken with an indescribable energy and joy, requiring immediate food, exercise, and mental stimulation. And of course, training.

100 "I Am" Affirmations
“I am” affirmations are powerful statements that can help boost self-esteem and confidence, while also helping one to manifest and practice mindfulness. “I am” affirmations are especially powerful when recited in front of a mirror aloud, but can be used in whatever way you like. Some choose to journal their affirmations (like me!), and others may recite them in more poetic or ritualistic ways. Affirmations can be used to help us manifest physical things, but also better feelings and reshape our minds in a positive way. Here are one hundred “I am” affirmations you can use however you’d like, as often as you’d like. It may feel uncomfortable to recite these out loud at first, and may be more “natural” to start by writing them down. Take note of what seems to resonate with you personally, and integrate these affirmations into your daily routines. Saying your affirmations after waking up and before going to bed may feel especially invigorating and comforting. Who wouldn’t want to start and finish the day with positivity?
