Past is past
Human beings are wired to remember. Our brains naturally catalog events and assign emotional significance to them. This is why past traumas, heartbreaks, and failures often stay with us far longer than we want them to. From a neurological standpoint, the amygdala—our brain's fear and emotion center—stores emotionally charged memories so they can be recalled quickly in the future. This biological safeguard helps us survive, but it also causes us to relive pain again and again.

“He Never Spoke… Until the World Listened”
In a quiet, forgotten village surrounded by emerald hills and flowing rice fields, lived a boy named Ayaan. Everyone knew him because he was different, not because he was popular. He hadn't spoken a word since the moment he was born. The villagers called him “mute,” and many assumed he was mentally slow. However, Ayaan was in no way broken. He just had a new perspective on the world. He lived with his grandmother, a kind old woman who never forced him to speak. She believed that some children didn’t need to use words to express themselves. She used to say, "Some souls are made of silence." Ayaan would go to a large banyan tree at the village's edge every morning after helping her with the chores at home. There, he sat for hours with an old, broken radio. The radio had not played music in over a decade, its wires were dangling like veins, and it was rusted. Ayaan had never met his grandfather, but he had always been someone Ayaan admired through stories. Ayaan would tap and slide across the radio's wooden body with his fingers. He made beats—soft, rhythmic, and emotional. It was not accidental. The way he drummed was like he was speaking through sound. But no one was interested enough to listen. He was laughed at by children. Some adults advised their children not to spend too much time with him. They would say, "He's strange." But Ayaan never responded. He simply smiled and continued to tap, producing music that only he and the wind seemed to comprehend. One rainy afternoon, something unexpected happened. Just outside the village, a black SUV broke down. A frustrated and drenched man in his 30s emerged from it. He was a city music producer named Rayyan, traveling in search of authentic sounds for a new album. His GPS had led him down the wrong road, and now he was stuck. As he walked toward the village, seeking help, he paused. There, floating through the soft patter of rain, was a sound. A soft beat. It was faint, but it was there—raw, real, and strangely moving. He pushed through wet bushes and mud to get to the banyan tree, curiously following the sound. He saw Ayaan there, eyes closed, moving his fingers across the old radio's surface. Rayyan was mesmerized as he watched in silence. Ayaan opened his eyes and saw the stranger when the beat stopped. He looked like he might run, but Rayyan smiled and raised his hands. Rayyan said in a soft voice, "That was incredible." "You created that?" Ayaan gave a nod but did not speak. Rayyan came slowly closer. “Do you mind if I record it?” After a brief pause, Ayaan handed over the radio. Rayyan took out a portable recorder and captured the tapping rhythm, then stayed a little longer, recording more of Ayaan’s unique percussive style. He didn’t ask questions. He didn’t talk much. He just listened. Before leaving, Rayyan smiled again. “You may not speak, kid... but your sound says everything.” Back in the city, Rayyan worked for nights without sleep. Behind Ayaan's raw rhythm, he added melodies, ambient layers, and soft piano. When it was done, he named the track: “The Silent Beat.” He didn't put it out on his label. Instead, he uploaded it to SoundCloud and YouTube in private. The description was as follows: “Created by a boy who never spoke, but whose rhythm spoke for him.” The track went viral in a week. People from around the world commented: "I felt things I can't explain because of this." “Is this from a movie? Beautiful and haunting all at once. “Who is this silent musician?” Rayyan didn’t reveal Ayaan’s name immediately. He wanted the world to fall in love with the music, not the mystery. However, journalists and influencers quickly located the source, and the story of the boy from the village who never spoke but touched people's hearts with his beat spread. The village was visited by a film crew. People who once ignored Ayaan now spoke about him with pride. Some people lied, claiming that they had always known he was talented. Others hung their heads in shame. Rayyan returned, this time with a team. He went up to Ayaan's grandmother and inquired about whether Ayaan would be willing to travel with them for a single live performance. Ayaan started out scared. But his grandmother placed her hand on his and whispered, “Your voice is already out there. Please adhere to it. In a massive hall in Dhaka, under thousands of lights and cameras, Ayaan sat with his broken radio. Rayyan introduced him: “He never said a word. However, his heart beats spoke. This... is The Silent Beat.” Ayaan began tapping, the same way he did under the banyan tree. But this time, a choir, violins, soft pads, and his rhythm were with him. The audience was silent, spellbound. Some wept. Others closed their eyes and swayed. When the music ended, there was a moment of deep, echoing silence. After that, everyone in the room gave him a standing ovation. A reporter rushed forward with a mic and asked, “Ayaan, how does it feel to finally be heard?” Ayaan leaned into the microphone and whispered, for the first time in his life, in front of thousands of people: “I wasn’t waiting to speak. I was waiting for someone to listen.” From that day, Ayaan wasn’t just a boy from a quiet village. He became a symbol of unheard talent, of silent dreams that bloom when someone finally pays attention. He performed all over the world, inspired children, and established a foundation to assist disabled children in expressing themselves through music. His beats never needed words. Because sometimes, the deepest stories are told… in silence.

If I Had One Year Left to Live
If I Had One Year Left to Live What if you woke up tomorrow and learned you had exactly one year left 365 days until the curtain falls? On March 30, 2025, imagine a doctor’s voice cutting through the sterile hum of a hospital room: “You have one year.” That sentence would shatter me, not because of the words, but because of the weight they carry.
