Realizing Your Perfection

Accepting the Truth and Grandeur of YOU!

By Lawson PattersonPublished 6 years ago 9 min read
The longer you choose to believe the lie that you are imperfect, the longer you will suffer.

Working a number of years as a professional medium, channel, and spiritual counsel whose goal is to facilitate healing, I have noticed some disturbing commonalities and trends that I believe are contributing to the downfall of the human spirit on a massive level. They are commonalities that I believe are so damaging to mankind and society as a whole, that I can no longer remain silent and I am choosing Vocal as the first platform from which to raise my voice on these important issues. Mine is a profession most often sought out during life's more difficult situations, and I feel very blessed and honored to offer validation, guidance, and love to my clients at what is quite often, one of the most vulnerable times of their lives. I also take a great deal of responsibility for the information and energy I offer my clients and the world as a whole, and I want my readers to know the same is true of these writings.

I think it's important to note that because of my connection with the non-physical world of spirit, I have received 100 percent of my spiritual education (for lack of a better term), from my guides and other non-physical sources. As a result, I am not overly familiar with many spiritual teachers of the day and I'm not at all well versed in the spiritual teachings of other human beings. I am, however, very well versed in that which has been shared with me, thus far, by my non-physical counterparts. I would now like to share with you what many in the non-physical world would refer to as, "One of the greatest, self-perpetuating lies, ever perpetrated against humanity."

THE BIG LIE

There is a mantra I hear being repeated over and over again within our society, and sadly it seems most prevailing within the spiritual and self-improvement communities. An insidious lie, like a drum beating and pounding into our consciousness, it weaves itself into the belief structure of every person who chooses to accept its deceit as truth. What is that lie you ask? Well, it seems as though somewhere along the way, society has come to a unified conclusion that every beautiful soul on our magical planet is broken, damaged, flawed, wholly imperfect, and living a life littered with poor decisions and horrible mistakes. A lie that not only wants us to believe and revel in our own imperfect, it also continues by explaining that the road to redemption, happiness, and self-love, can be found by finally accepting the "fact" that we are imperfect and we will always be that way.

Well, I feel very comfortable saying that I speak on behalf of all spirit guides, angels, acceded masters, and every love and light filled entity throughout the non-physical realm of existence when I say; that's the biggest crock of shit ever served up to any race, anywhere, throughout our entire universe, and its a lie has got to stop! The fact of the matter is; you and I are individual expressions of the greatest force known throughout our universe, a force that many of this world refer to as God, and as such, we do not have the option of being anything less than absolute perfection. And, I have to tell you, it breaks my heart to know that many will read this text and be irritated, feeling compelled to retort, "You are wrong and I am certainly not perfect," as if defending their own imperfection is some type of noble cause. While never even realizing the reason my statement triggers them is because it goes against a lifetime of programming. Programming that is not intended to uplift and empower you but rather keep you believing you are damaged and therefore; weak and easily controlled. Its concerning to me that some of the most vehement attacks I've had from skeptics and naysayers, came from those highly trigger when I expressed the sentiment that they are absolutely perfect, not broken, not damaged, and not needing to be "fixed" in any way. Most disturbing to me is the way the spiritual and self-help communities seem to embrace this ridiculous lie and readily disseminate it to those who are already feeling lost and vulnerable. We as a race have been systematically stripped of our power for so long and to such a degree that there is no longer a need for anyone to take our power from us; we have proven over and over again that we will willingly and obediently hand it over without even being asked. We have proven that we will willingly and obediently concede that we are powerless, weak, human beings, and that is the lie trying to destroy the human spirit.

Understanding Perfection

I would like everyone to understand, especially those who are struggling and feeling as though they need direction, that just because you are unable to see the perfection of your journey (especially true when you're in the middle of a shit storm), that doesn't negate the fact you and the journey you are traveling are absolutely perfect. Some might even argue, divinely perfect. A magical balancing act of dark and light, designed to provide an optimum environment for learning, expanding, and becoming more.

I'm always fascinated by the answers I receive when I ask people questions like, "What would you have to change about yourself in order to be more perfect?" One of the biggest commonalities I've found is that no one really seems to know. There are of course a lot of people that struggle with body image and so it's not uncommon to hear that perfection can be obtained, "If I could just lose weight." Then there are the financial issues. It has to be the number one answer as to how life can become it’s most perfect. Apparently, we just need to be filthy rich. Those are the two most common responses I get to that question. That is unless I am speaking to someone who has lost a great deal of weight or managed to become filthy rich. Those people have sadly come to the conclusion that they are no more perfect now than they were when they were fat and poor. I say "sadly" because, through the whole experience, they fail to realize that in fact; they have been perfect all along. Another time I often hear about the unfair, imperfect, life a person is leading, is when they are in the throws of emotional upheaval. At those times, they speak as though their life would be more perfect if they weren't constantly experiencing emotional hurt, but the truth is, if you were not able to experience the devastation of emotional hurt you would not be viewed as more perfect but rather as someone displaying the characteristics of a sociopath. In reality, most of us manage to get through the devastation, and it's not nearly as constant as it might feel at the time. The rich, vibrant, and intense variety of emotions we experience in this beautiful world are one of those things offered in only the most perfect of settings and situations.

Mistake or Lesson?

Okay people, listen up! It is not possible to be both a "mistake" and simultaneously, "one of the biggest lessons of my life," because those two vibrations, mistake and lesson, are in direct opposition to one another. I swear if I see one more meme delivering that ridiculous message, "Yes I've made mistakes but they are what taught me some of the greatest lessons of my life." WTH? It's as though people just aren't willing to give up the notion that they make mistakes, even as they are acknowledging everything they've learned from any given situation. Think of it like this, if we created a machine that picked up apples one at a time, decided if the apple was good or rotten and placed it in the appropriate bin, we wouldn't watch the machine picking up the rotten apples and say, "It's broken and it keeps making mistakes." We understand that's simply how the machine's designed. First, it picks up the apple and then it assesses it and decides if it's good or rotten. Similarly, we as human beings are constantly making choices and then assessing whether or not, in our opinion and given the information at hand, ours was a good choice or a rotten choice. We then adjust our choices based on the new information we have gleaned from our experience and the process repeats itself. As the creators of our experience here in the physical world, it is important we pay close attention to the information we feed ourselves and the self talk we expose ourselves to on a daily basis. There is a constant dialog going on in your head and if that dialog is judgmental and critical of self, it will always be detrimental to your mental, emotional, and physical health. There is never a time that you will benefit from seeing yourself as damaged, broken, making mistakes, or imperfect. That type of derogatory self dialog can destroy a person's spirit, and I find it particularly disturbing because it isn't even true. Few things are shaping the course of your life more powerfully than your beliefs regarding yourself. When a person believes they are constantly making mistakes in life they also tend to wonder things like, "What's wrong with me? Why did I do that again? Am I stupid?" This is the type of self-talk that produces needless and unjustified guilt, shame, and regret in a person. All of which is low vibration emotions that are not only damaging to the human psyche and spirit, but also disrupt the natural connection with Source energy and the non-physical world of spirit.

Mastering Being Human

I am often asked, "Lawson, what is our purpose in even coming to this planet?" Now I must say, that is a pretty big question and a subject that could easily be pondered for lifetimes. As such, I believe it's difficult to answer with anyone generalization but that said, if I were going to summarize my answer to one concise statement I would have to say, We have come to this beautiful planet to continue our ongoing education in mastering being human. You can look at our world as an enormous educational institution in which you have enrolled in a very intense, multifaceted, master’s program. The program is going to last the duration of your current lifetime and it will involve a great variety of different subjects, all of which are designed to assist you in the expansion of your being while simultaneously educating you in the art of mastering being human. You will be challenged with courses in humanity, ethics, morality, empathy, kindness, compassion, and many more similar subjects. It's important to note that although you will have both physical and non-physical instructors assigned to you, there will be no one grading or judging your performance other than yourself. Experience has taught me you should be kind, loving, and lenient while judging yourself, because you are enrolled in one of the most difficult master programs offered throughout our universe, and regardless of what you might currently believe, you are doing magnificently.

When a person understands the educational system they are engaged in, they tend to very accurately, view their life as filled with lessons of great value, whereas when a person views their life as riddled with mistakes and poor decisions, they tend to carry needless guilt and think more poorly of themselves in general. If you speak to someone who has just completed their master’s program or perhaps recently received their PhD., they may have a lot of different emotions swirling but it is unlikely they will be feeling guilty about the classes taken in order to achieve their goal. They understood that there would be sacrifices made, less time with friends and family as they studied, a lot of money to be earned and paid, long nights of hard, hard work, and still, they enrolled because they were working toward a goal. Most people who have gone through that type of educational experience speak of it with great pride and not guilt or shame. Now is time for you to begin to understand that you are currently enrolled in one of the most difficult educational opportunities offered throughout our entire universe and you should feel and speak with great pride of the journey you are traveling. You have done nothing wrong. You’re simply picking up the bad apples too.
