Real Change through Purpose • Selflessness.
If this, if that.

I like to get straight to It. Why? That’s just me. If this & if that? Let’s do It!
Honey. That’s the name of the movie I am going to talk about, by the way. I never get tired of watching this movie. Her name is Honey. Seeing someone who is passionate about dance but mainly passionate about her community, about the kids she teaches, about creating opportunities for them and making sure they stay off the streets or that they have a safe place to be, to express and grow in their passion for dance & storytelling. As she has faced a couple of challenges, even when It ended up hurting those she was trying to help, she was determined to not give up, even when things were set up against her. She seeked, she expressed, and she made her strive through the mud of those that were trying to dirty her name.
What really got me was, she did not depend on the one who was trying to control her to bring her back as a client now that he was in the mud. Yes, he had the money, he had the connections, but due to honesty, respect for herself and integrity for herself, she rejected It and said “I’m going to get that dance studio on my own.” She knew herself and knew what she was capable of doing & who she was doing It for. In the end, she was able to build & have her own dance studio and continue to give back to the community in this way.
If you love that movie, you would love this.

Man... this movie brings me to tears every time.
A woman. A teacher. Dedicated. Driven. Willing. Who took a job in Los Angelos, California, at a school where racial division was very much active and present with teens that were automatically placed as difficult to deal with.
I will not say too much with this movie as I do not want to spoil this for you, (Honey too)
But seeing someone who was willing to stay and listen to these teens who most of them have been at war all their lives trying to survive, giving them something to hope and dream in, helping them bridge the gap of the racial division starting right in this classroom. Something to build in and with each other. A teacher who actually cares. Unlike many teachers who would not even take the time to get to know the human beings they spend most of their time with and automatically place students who seem difficult in a certain criteria, this teacher did not.
She invested herself in their lives when It comes to where they are now, their education and their future. Even in the cost of.... (not going to spoil It)
tears every time.
Saying all of this to say,
The theme of these movies I am listening is selflessness & willingness to live on purpose for the sake of others, to impact & change the world.
By doing what they love and not being selfish but looking what was around them & them willing to stick It through to make a change in the lives of those they were connected with & to, says a lot.
These movies are inspiring to me.
I don’t get tired of them.
