NaNoWriMo 2024
Writing till my fingers fall off
As per usual this story may be all over the place because why stay on topic when you can have multiple side stories to eventually get to the point? Sometimes a handful of side stories to get to the main story anyways. Usually makes it more enjoyable- for the most part to be honest.
With a world full of bullshit- take time to tell stories and don’t forget to write them down for later. Even than write a sequal to those stories. Everyone loves a great story teller.
It’s that time of year again, with roughly two weeks away- NaNoWriMo is quickly arriving. Last year, November of 2023, was the first time I made an actual effort to particapte.
Writing everyday and successfully posting, here on Vocal.media, almost every day- I recieved my first top story ever.
I am more than excited to be able to particapte again this year. I have so many ideas that I have cooped up in my imagination. These stories/poems are egre to get out on paper- I mean screen.
Otherwise, I have book idea that I have started to write down ideas for it but didn’t make it very far. You can guarenttee I’ll be taking full adventage of NaNoWriMo.
-Why am I particapting? I’ve always dreamt of having a life of having the luxury of being a writer- content creator as a full time job. Knowing it’s still alot of work but if it’s a dream, is it really alot of work?
There are 11 other months to be delulu about being a full time writer, while putting in the work, something about NaNoWriMo feels different. Almost like a high- feels like a last chance of making it on top.
If I remember from last year, we were able to make writing goals. I am unsure what my goal in words was from last year but this year I have a few goals.
1. Post one story/poem everyday in November.
2. Write 10,000 words.
3. Have some sort of outline/ rough draft of book.
I’m hoping that this will help me write for the winter. It sure did make a difference in the winter last year. It helped me get in some sort of writing routine for most of the winter but by the time spring came, the pen went down and spent more time outside reading and drawing.
In a way, a year later I didn’t accomplish my wrting goals for 2024. My goal for 2024 was to write one peice a day but I think I managed to get on average one a month. In a way I guess that is alot better than not writing at all.
Sometimes I wonder how people can manage a whole day job, all of their hobbies and manage to have a full side hustle at the sametime. Then the same people still manage to have the free time for other things.
The time management some of these people have fasinates me. Not even time management but to have the energy to keep up with everything.
If I learned anything from last year’s NaNoWriMo is to show up and put the pen to paper for 20 minutes. Least get all of the idea down and fill in the blanks later on. I love looking at the ideas that I have written down and it ends up going into a completely different direction that I inticapated.
Sometimes that can be difficult and such a pain. Mostly because I had a great idea but couldn’t get to writing out more of the details and forgetting where I was going with it.

Every success in whatever you undertake. Good mood and beautiful writing.
I wanted to let you know there are a few typos in here—I get it, it happens to me quite a bit but I like when people tell me. Otherwise, this is a great piece. I'm not sure I'll participate this year, but I find NaNoWriMo very motivating. We shall see. Thanks for sharing this!
