My New Year 2025 Resolution, Journey into Landscape Painting and Creative Growth
Embracing the Canvas

So, this was the scene in Venice at midnight, welcoming the Year 2025, and with some introspection of my own on need and creativity. Every New Year’s Eve, I contemplated resolutions that usually faded as the months dragged on. But this year felt different. It was a whiff of hope and commitment in the air. I resolved that 2025 would finally be the year I recommitted to a creative endeavor, one that — if I’m honest — I had fantasized about for years: learning how to paint, with special emphasis on landscape painting.
The concept stemmed from my appreciation for art and my interest in experimenting with new creative outlets. I had admired the vibrant hues and tranquil beauty of landscape paintings over the years, thinking how glorious it would be to create one myself someday. I imagined using bright, saturated colors and replicating the beauty of nature, from towering mountains to serene beaches. I wanted to improve my painting skills and be able to sell my pieces through the internet and make some money off of something I loved doing.
As January progressed, I started to set in motion my resolution. I was aware that enthusiasm alone would not suffice to move me forward; I would need commitment, practice, and to observe others at work. I was all set to go and all that was left to do was lose myself in landscape painting. I was poring over techniques, color palettes, and compositions for hours that would momentarily animate landscapes. I noticed the most striking elements of the best paintings—the way the light and shadow danced with each other, the colors complementing each other, and the feelings implied in a scene.
Armed with insights, I transitioned to securing supplies. I bought the best paints, brushes, and canvases for my new career. In the beginning, it was pretty basic, I dabbled with various brushes and strokes. I was more interested in representing the energy of nature and therefore painted sunsets, forests, and oceans with bold colors. Every single painting was a step forward and taught me about things like blending, perspective, subtle variations in light, and many more!
The making of my paintings was a journey in itself. I ran the brush across the canvas, a vision of vibrancy and emotion leading the way. I paid attention to scenes that spoke to me — a bright field, a stormy sky, a quiet lake at dusk. I was translating the natural world into brush strokes; though, each stroke had its own story to tell.
Having my ideas and my Vision for the next months, my self-confidence was scudding. Make sure to stay tuned as I will be sharing my experience in my blog as I document what it’s like to be a newbie trying to paint. The blog allows me a medium to reach other artists, art lovers, and potential buyers. The feedback and encouragement they offer are vital to my improvement and success.
I’ll be primed to share my work with a wider audience by then. I am going to open an online store on Etsy and Instagram to display my paintings and their stories. They are expecting the response to be overwhelmingly positive. Seeing the enjoyment people took from the art I made, listening to their experiences and interpretations of my art, and seeing their homes filled with my paintings was unimaginably rewarding. It reassures me that things (except my effort) just going to be inevitable.
Equipped with the feedback, I will modify my approach, undergoing a series of trials in varying styles and topics. This pinpointed the significance of iterating and flexibility in creativity. It shows me to take the feedback as a way to grow and get better.
As summer transitioned to autumn, I will keep sharpening my skills, playing around with different landscapes and color palettes. My first collection is titled “Vibrant Horizons: A Journey Through Landscape Painting.” This collection represents my journey as an emerging artist exploring nature's beauty colors and textures.
When my collection launches, it will be a seminal event. I hold a virtual gallery event, inviting friends, family, and art enthusiasts to come together to celebrate a year of creativity and hard work. The evening will include fun, stories, and of course an appreciation for the arts. They revisit the paintings, offer their opinions on the pieces on display, and in some cases buy artworks to decorate their walls.
The release of the collection is a new beginning for him. Still, I live on the same platform as before, I keep listing my paint on the internet, which is the best marketing plan that I can have. You are familiar with data up till October 2023. The online community grows rapidly, with followers sending photos of my paintings in their homes and words of encouragement.
Looking back on the year, I understood that the process had been more than practicing painting. It was about love, working through difficulty, and creating something that brings happiness to the lives of others. Through the project, I learned the power of persistence, the significance of community, and the magic of manifestation.
My creative aspirations keep evolving as I look forward to 2025 to 26. Demand for “Vibrant Horizons” has inspired speculation as to what could come next — new offerings exploring other themes, or perhaps even a series of “how to” videos for budding painters. In my new studio, with new people, in a new city, there are so many options, oh my god.
This was not my New Year resolution for 2025, it was a journey that helped me connect with the art, know, feel & enjoy the creativity. The new year… reminded me that each year is a canvas waiting to be painted, and every stroke brings a bright idea one step closer to being brought to life.
As Vincent Van Gogh once said, 'What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?'
