Midnight Mountain

To everyone,

This is a trip to take if you're seeking the light, and a true awakening and connection with nature. The image depicts a painting which I created of a black and white drawing of a mountain among a range.

Many go out in search of a nice hike in these regions, however to sit in the stillness of the night, near calm waters with a clear view of the midnight sky and the mountain in the distance evokes a sense of awe and wonder.

I would sit at the edge of the stream, and admire the beauty of the moment. The scent of pine needles and the fresh crisp air would only enhance the sights.

In these uncertain times, escaping to a place in nature which is free from our human imprint is crucial. Social distancing requires us to physically give each other the proper space to remain healthy, but our souls are also in search of a space to feel alive. Many of us are at home, worried about our health and the health of loved ones, but if we can take a step outside and find a place which naturally allows us to draw strength, we may find the spark in ourselves to deal with our challenges properly.

The dark skies signify the changes in our life which may not be as expected. We are often times thrust into uncertainties. The mountain, reflecting the light gives us a sign of hope and firm trust while the calm waters offer a steady clarity and purity to freshen our scope.

The deeper significance which I find however is our profound connection with nature and a natural self. That we are human, but we must also survive. We must read the signs which we are given, awaken our every sense and fight with our very core to survive whatever it is that comes our way. What we admire most in the other creatures we may spot in the forest is the sheer ability to withstand the elements and make a life for themselves. Yet we must seek that same willpower and drive in ourselves . We must awaken that spirit and let it push us where we need to go in life. The comforts of our home don't always allow for such an awakening and don't always enable us to embark on the journey which requires true instinct and a soul's understanding of what it really is.

So with this image and this message I call people to explore their innermost through the natural world. Find the strength needed in what the almighty has provided us with. The mountains, the trees, the streams, the midnight sky...whatever awakens your soul to the understanding that it has potential to live far beyond what you imagine.

We eventually return from our trips into the wilderness, the hikes we take, and the runs in the park, but we must carry back with us from these places the freshness that enables us to thrive. Take inspiration and hold on to it.

I wish everyone the best in this time and hope people find within themselves strength to do whatever is best for them. Keep safe, but also keep connected to reality and to the message that is apparent all around is in nature. This painting was given as a gift to a family member , but I also share it with everyone as a postcard not mainly for the beauty of the painting itself, but for the message connected to it.
