Meet RealLifeJay

My name is RealLifeJay and I’m a artist based out of Virginia. I could specify a city but I feel as if my music vision and message is representative of the whole of the state and not just a specific city. Even though we have some extremely big names to come out of VA such as Timbaland, Pharrell, The Clipse etc. we still haven’t got our recognition as a staple in the game so until that’s the case I’m always just going to say Virginia when people want or know where I’m from.

I love to make music. Not just making the music but the whole process. I love the way you can start from the beep of a metronome and a few hours later you have a complete masterpiece. As cliché as it sounds the creativity of it all is why I love to make music. I have multiple folders full of songs that might not ever get released. I just make it and listen to it myself.

In the next five years I plan to be on tour, two projects under my belt, maybe a Grammy. Who knows. You can’t focus too much on the future when we have so much to do in the moment. I believe in my art and I believe in my team. Most importantly I believe in myself so the next five years I could be anywhere. Wherever I am though Im going to be getting paid from my product.

My main goal in life is just to fully be able to sustain myself and the way I live purely off what I love to do. Weather that means eventually building a studio to record myself and other artists, write for other artists or even just maintaining a presence in my industry by releasing quality solid music

. I guess the only thing I want to accomplish in life is being able to use my art to pay all my bills. That’s what true peace is to me. Waking up and being able to make a living off what you live to do. I want to accomplish peace for me and those around me. Like true peace though. And you can only find that from doing what you love to do for a living. .

The main thing I bring to my industry is versatility. I can rap, sing, write and speak from a perspective of honesty and clarity that’s missing in most people nowadays in the world in general. I can actually freestyle. Like off the top pure what a freestyle is supposed to be freestyle. It’s kind of a lost art now but that’s what sets me apart. The way I portray myself in my music is the way I am in real life, hence my name. I can do everything and still remain myself, which allows me to work with whoever, work on whatever, and truly do everything that I would have to pay somebody for. I’m self sufficient. Ultimately I believe my perspective is what sets me apart. I’ve been in the country, the city, the untied states and overseas multiple times so I got a opportunity to see and experience things people only rap about. For lack of a better term you could say that I’m well rounded and my music portrays that if anything else.

Ultimately I want to be remembered by my music. Since I’m literally only speaking on things I’ve said or done I want to be able to stand k the same room with the greatest song writers and rappers of out generation and be respected as a peer and a artist in every sense of what that means. I want my melodies and my lyrics to be what people party to, fight to, get money to and even make love to. I want to be remembered for my mind and what I’m able to create with it. And right now the only way I can do that is by releasing some of this music I got vaulted right now.
