What’s your name and where are you from?

My name is Lee Gunna! I come from the steel city! Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Why do you love what you do?

What I love most is the reaction I get from my music! Seeing people smile, dance, or even cry to a song I wrote let’s me know my music is really felt. The reaction is what makes me love my craft!

What makes you different?

The difference is, I actually write ALL of my music! Lol! I’m very versatile and challenge myself with different rhyme patterns and genres. This keeps my fan base attentive, yet anticipating what I’m coming with next! I bring attention to my music with my lyrics and cadence. I don’t have to sexualize myself to gain musical traction and my audience is organic. I’ve traveled almost half the U.S by myself building business relationships and networking my music. Most artists won’t leave their state without an entourage! I also became college alumni just to learn the business side of music. I do what the average artist just isn’t willing to do. I’m not your average artist and I stand on that.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I’m in the process of obtaining my Associates Degree in Music Technology and another Associates Degree in General Studies! I have my own business, as well as, a business with my daughter in the beauty industry! In 5 years I will be managing my own music and media center. My daughter and I will also have a beauty supply shop which we’re currently working towards. I’m looking to open our first location in the Atlanta Metropolitan area and expanding to Los Angeles, California and of course my home town in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Creating opportunities to build generational wealth in my community is also on my to do list within the next 5 years!

What do you want to accomplish in life?

My life accomplishments include building generational wealth by building business and personal credit. This will help fund businesses and encourage the next entrepreneur to live the life they always dreamed of! My goal is to start with my daughter graduating high school with an outstanding credit score! Showing her the perks of having good business and personal credit and most importantly how to maintain her score. This will encourage her to pass the info to her friends and family with hopes of everyone flourishing financially. Outside of building generational wealth, in life I’d love to be successful in the music industry. Regardless if it’s me being an artist, manager, label executive, etc. I plan to be musically involved somehow for the rest of my life.

What do you bring to your industry?

I feel I bring the versatility to this industry that most female artist don’t care to showcase. My lyrics and cadence speak for itself! I engage in word play and apply literary and poetic devices to enhance the understanding of my music. When writing, I may use a thesaurus to substitute one word for a word that’s rarely used! My image isn’t provocative like most of the upcoming female artists or artists in the industry. Again, I’m not your average female artist! Lol!

What do you want to be remembered by?

I want to be remembered by the footwork I put in to build this career. Overnight success is possible, but I want the experience behind the success! I’ve had my share of trials and tribulations. The road to success isn’t always pretty, but the outcome can be beautiful and I definitely make it look EASY!
