What’s your name and where are you from?
My name is Lauren Marie. I am originally from Florida but now reside in New York City.
Why do you love what you do?
My love for performing arts, modeling, and creating is beyond measure. I have been singing my whole life but began taking professional lessons at age eleven. I would spend hours singing in my backyard because it became too excessive for my family to listen to. As you can see, singing was the center of my happiness even from a young age.
I discovered my love for acting and musical theatre in 8th grade when my vocal coach encouraged me to audition for her musical: Legally Blonde Junior. I only got a small role with a short solo, but when I got on stage everything melted away; any fear, stage fright, or anxiety I was experiencing disappeared. I was not myself; I was the character. I was not in my head or overthinking. I was in the present moment, the character’s present moment. I love acting because it serves as a vessel to free yourself and your mind; and to experience life through many different perspectives, and live multiple realities. I am honored to touch other people through my work and release my own emotions in such a beautiful form as well.
About seven years ago I started supplementing my acting with modeling, and it became one of my passions as I realized it serves me in a way that’s similar to how acting does. They are both very freeing arts that help practice presence. I’ve had a love for fashion my whole life. My mom says I would pick out what I would wear before I could even talk. My sense of style and eye for killer looks wasn’t a skill I learned but just something that simply seemed to have always been there. Dress-up was my favorite game to play as a child. I remember in pre-school, as soon as we were released for free-time, I would run all the way to the dress-up station and ensure I was the first one there so I could wear the stunning, hot pink, taffeta dress. I was bullied a lot growing up for what I wore. Breaking free from that and living for myself was the best thing I did for myself and my style. It is your life so dress for it every day, any way you please.
Content creating is something I have also always found joy in. I saved up for a photography camera in elementary school and practiced taking photos. Next, I saved up for the Canon G7x mark ii and began training my eye for cinematography. Sharing my experiences with my audience and giving my insight after trials of testing brands brings me joy. As a content creator my goal is to save people’s time, inspire, and open the door to my world.
What makes you different?
My work ethic and drive are incomparable to anyone else. When I set my mind to something, I get it. I simply do not give myself the option to fail. My intellectual perseverance is one of my main qualities that makes me stand out.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years, I see myself working with major brands and starring in film and television series.
What do you want to accomplish in life?
My biggest goal is to inspire and touch others through my various passions while fully living them out. I want to connect with others and show them how anything in life is possible. No dream is too big. One of my favorite quotes from Amber Scholl,” What if it doesn’t come true? Ah, but what if it does?”
What do you bring to your industry?
My look provides a voice for petite models in the fashion industry. My intellectual and analytic mind allows for deep and fascinating conceptualizations on characters I play.
What do you want to be remembered by? After working with someone, I hope to be remembered by my work ethic, positivity, and fun/easy going personality.
