Meet Amani Hiphop

What’s your artist name and where are you from?

I was born and raised in the diverse borough of Queens, New York. was surrounded by a vibrant and influential music scene from a young age. He developed a passion for hip hop and rap music, and began writing and performing his own tracks as a teenager. Originally going by the name "Amani", he later changed his artist name to "Amani Hiphop" (inspired by Token Hiphop) due to the name "Amani" being taken on every platform. Now I am 19 years old and ready to take over the world with my music.

Why do you love music?

I was surrounded by a vibrant and influential music scene from a young age. I developed a passion for hip hop, and began writing and performing my own tracks as a teenager. After relocating to the Rio Grande Valley, Texas (also known as "The Valley") in 2010, I was inspired by the unique culture and sound of the region, which I've incorporated into my music. I then began performing at local clubs and events, and steadily gained a dedicated following of fans who appreciated lyricism and flow that had an "old-school" influence.

What makes you different as a music artist?

I'm different because not only am I one of the few new emerging Hiphop Artists that still carry the "old-school" essence but I also have my own clothing brand called "Amani Hiphop '' as well. You can check out my catalog here: https://www.amanihiphop.com. I grinded for many hours and days and weeks trying to set up my website, design the clothes, and put everything together. It cost a lot of money, time, and stress but it's finally here. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I definitely will emerge from the underground by then. I can't see why not. I see myself surrounded by a good network of supporters and friends and I hope I can give the love and support back and help everyone in my circle and hopefully my community as well.

What do you want to accomplish in life?

I want to accomplish big things. I want to chart on the Billboard, I want to take my company/clothing brand/record label Amani Hiphop LLC off the ground (www.amanihiphop.com). I want to make it to the top and then teach others how to do it as well. I want to be as much of a positive and helpful influence as possible.

What do you bring to the music world?

Currently, I bring old school Hiphop flavors with some Experimental and Alternative twists. I'm very versatile as an artist and those genres are currently what I have on display at the moment on all streaming platforms (search "Amani Hiphop '' on any music streaming platform). In the future, I hope to display my raw skill as a rapper by entering the sounds of Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, and Tyler the Creator.

What do you want to be remembered by?

I want to be remembered as an artist that was generally liked by his fans and his community. I want people to know that I honestly tried my best and did what I could to put people on the same moves/wave as me. I want people to see me as someone who is true, which may be hard to find nowadays in the industry ("No friends in the industry"- Drake).
