How many of us are just going through the daily actions of our lives, without really working towards our goals? When you think about it, when was the last time that you really focused on your goals. And made sure that you were working towards them? It's so easy to let time pass us by, to waste time in our lives. Before we know it, one day becomes a week, becomes a month, becomes a year. Make sure that you are reaching for your goals at all times.

Make sure you know your dreams, and make your goals.

In order to be productive, you need to make sure that you know what you want to accomplish. Think of your dream life, of the things you really want for your life. Make a list of your goals. I have overall goals and dreams. Things long term, like have $1,000,000. Then I break down my goals. Make sure that you have smaller goals that will get you to your total dream.

For example, if you want to be at a healthy weight. Then make monthly goals that will help you reach that. Such as start going for walks, work out 5 times a week, or cut out junk food.

By breaking the larger goals, into smaller more manageable goals, it makes it easier to accomplish them. It's not as overwhelming that way. One step, turns into two, and before you know it, you will accomplish your goals.

Find a plan that works for you.

Not every system will work for everyone. There are so many ways to plan out your life. You need to find something that works for you. Some like an actual planner, and some like to plan on their iPad or phone.

Some people plan out the whole week, some can only deal with a day at a time. There are so many systems to plan out your life. You need to find a system that works for you.

For me, a block schedule, is the way that I am the most productive. You break up your day into time blocks. You then schedule what you want to do in those blocks. One idea behind it is that if you don't get finished what you need in that block, then you move on. So if you wanted to clean the floors between 11-3, but you had other cleaning to do so you couldn't do it. Then you move on to other things and move cleaning the floors to tomorrow. The principal is that you get more accomplished overall that way. It's the best way that I can be productive, that's the system that works for me. I am a person that needs a plan. Otherwise, I feel aimless, without a purpose in my days. But that is what works for me. Find out what works for you.

Limit your screen time.

If you are like most people, then you spend a lot of time on your phone. Playing games, or like most people, then scrolling on social media. If you really track how much time you spend on it, you would be very surprised. So limit the amount of time that you spend on it. Either put time limits, such as no looking at your phone until 11, or only scroll for 30 minutes. By putting limits, you would be surprised how much time that you can find in your day.

Schedule time for yourself.

You need to make sure that you are being productive and reaching for your goals. But you also need time to relax as well, time of just joy. If you are trying to always be productive, all the time, then you will burn yourself out. So make sure that you also schedule some joy. Some time to relax, and do something that just brings you joy.

Don't get overwhelmed

I know that it could be overwhelming to think about it all. But don't let yourself get overwhelmed by it. Start small and work your way up. Don't try to change everything in one day, it will be too much. But slowly one thing can become two, and it can quickly snowball from there.

There are always ways to be more productive in your life. That you can accomplish more of your goals, if you just try. Don't let more time go by wasted. Make sure that you are working hard to accomplish what you want to do with your life.
