Love that survives without clarity
Embracing Uncertainty as a Path to Growth and Inner Strength

There have been many moments when I’ve asked God to intervene in difficult situations and noticed a pattern in how I respond while waiting. Probably something we’ve all experienced at one point: either I become desperate, willing to sacrifice anything just to get an answer to what I’m praying for, or I do absolutely nothing — calling it ‘trust’ when in reality, I’m just stuck, scared, and unsure, waiting for perfect clarity before taking even the smallest step.
But I’m learning that neither of those extremes reflect the kind of trust God actually invites us into. Real trust is active faith.
I used to think I needed all the answers before I could move forward. But when I asked God for clarity, He gave me courage instead. And it was that courage that enabled me to take a step of faith — even when all I had was the next step, with no idea where it would lead.
Depending on God doesn’t mean settling for our limitations — accepting them as the final boundary and not pushing beyond them. It’s about giving our all, reaching the end of our strength, and trusting Him to provide what we lack.
It’s surrendering the outcome while staying faithful to what’s in front of us — choosing obedience, even when the next step feels small or unclear.
When faced with the impossible, we often have questions. In the Bible, specifically in Luke 1, both Zechariah and Mary were confronted with situations beyond their understanding, and each of them asked their own questions. But Zechariah questioned with doubt, while Mary questioned with trust. One was silenced; the other was celebrated.
Luke 1:18
Zechariah asked the angel, “How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years.”
Luke 1:34
“How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”
God welcomes our questions — but it’s the posture of our hearts that makes all the difference. Trust deepens our faith. Doubt distances us from truth.
Sometimes the very thing we care about most, the one we’ve prayed for with all our hearts, is better surrendered to God. Because He’s more than capable of handling it in ways we can’t even imagine. He understands the deepest desires of our hearts more than we do, and He knows just how much it burdens us. Most importantly, He knows the perfect timing for when we’re ready to receive His answer.
Proverbs 3:5–6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.
In uncertain seasons, one of the most powerful ways to keep yourself grounded is remembering how powerful, intentional, and faithful God is. Hold tightly to His promises and recall what He has spoken over your life. Even when the waiting is heavy and the way forward feels unclear, He has not forgotten you. He is still working, still moving, still writing a story that’s good. His faithfulness does not fail — and it never will.
Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Find peace in the assurance that God will always provide everything you need in the season you’re in. It may not be what you want, and it may not be on your timeline, but it will be exactly what He knows you need to become the person He’s calling you to be and to follow where He’s leading you.
Anchoring yourself in His truth and love brings a quiet confidence, knowing that even when your circumstances don’t make sense, He is already at work, making a way.
It’s living with courage — not because you feel strong, but because you know He is.
