Choosing to be an optimist could help me maintain higher levels of well-being during times of stress than people who are less optimistic.
Then again, choosing to be a pessimist prepares me for the worst. Plus, I'm never disappointed when things don't go my way.
Most people see the glass as half-empty, but pessimists see it as half-full—of poison. So why would anyone choose to see the world this way?
So which life should I choose? Should I be an optimist or pessimist? Should I have a little bit of both? Or should I lean towards one more than the other or just choose one?
Suppose I have a pessimist view of life and choose to live in self-defeated life. In that case, I will be content knowing that I am one step ahead of most people. I will be aware of all the possible traps and pitfalls that could await me, and I will be prepared for them. I will be realistic about the chances of success and the potential for failure. But is being too pessimistic necessarily protects me and increase my chance of success before I make a bad decision?
I think that being too pessimistic does not necessarily protect me from disappointment, but it may help me to avoid getting my hopes up too high. If I am expecting the worst, then I may not be as disappointed if things don’t go as planned. Of course, this way of thinking can also backfire, as I may miss out on opportunities because I’m not giving myself enough credit. I think it is important to strike a balance between being realistic and optimistic because it can save you from pitfalls and failure.
On the other hand, who hasn't fantasized about being wealthy or successful? And who hasn't thought to be someone seen as successful and reinterpret a negative experience in a way that helps me learn and grow? So why should I nurture the point of view of an optimistic life to be a success? And does being too optimistic make you successful?
I think there's no simple answer to this question - This question can be answered depends on what is meant by saying "optimistic can lead to success."
People who are generally optimistic tend to be more successful than those who are more pessimistic; that's probably true. Also, optimism has been linked with better health, stronger relationships, and increased productivity which can lead to success.
Suppose I decide to have an optimistic view of life, it means that I will choose to see the good in every situation, no matter the difficulty it may bring. I will believe that there is always a chance for things to improve and that my efforts can make a difference. This outlook will help me to stay motivated and focused on my goals, even when things are tough. It will also help me build strong relationships with others, as I will be more likely to see the best in them as well.
However, it's also possible to be too optimistic - if you're always expecting the best and never prepared for the worst, you may be setting yourself up for disappointment. So it's important to find a balance.
Looking forward to success in all my endeavors without giving up if or when the thought of hitting rock bottom is a good feeling to look forward to. Also, why not inspire myself to try new things when the other choice doesn't work out? But the point of the matter is to make a choice that will help me grow toward success.
