Once in a quiet town, there lived a girl who had been blind since birth. She had never seen the sky, the colors of flowers, or even her own face. Because of this, she was unhappy with her life. She didn’t like herself and often stayed away from people. She felt like the world was unfair.
But there was one person who stayed by her side—her boyfriend. He never gave up on her. He visited her every day, made her laugh, and helped her with everything she needed. He listened to her fears, her dreams, and even her silence. While the girl often felt frustrated with life, she never pushed him away. He was the only person she truly trusted.
One day, while they were sitting together, she whispered, “If I could ever see the world, even just once, I would marry you.” Her words were honest. She believed that seeing the world would fix her sadness. Her boyfriend simply smiled and said, “I hope that day comes.”
Months passed. Then one day, the girl received a call from the hospital. A donor had given her a pair of eyes. The surgery was arranged, and soon after, her world changed forever.
When the bandages were removed, she cried tears of joy. For the first time, she saw the sky, the trees, and people’s faces. Everything looked so new and beautiful. She felt like she had been born again.
Later, her boyfriend came to visit. She was excited to finally see the man who had stood by her side all those years.
But when he stepped into the room, her heart sank.
He was blind.
He moved slowly, using a white cane. His eyes didn’t meet hers. He reached for her hand gently and smiled.
“Now that you can see the world,” he said softly, “will you marry me?”
The girl was silent. She looked at him, unsure of what to say. In her heart, a storm was brewing. The man she had imagined—the one she wanted to marry—wasn’t supposed to be blind. Her mind filled with doubt and fear. What would others think? Could she live with someone who couldn’t see?
Finally, she shook her head. “I’m sorry,” she said. “I can’t.”
Her words hit him like a stone. He didn’t say anything. He just nodded slowly, gave her a sad smile, and walked away.
A few days later, she received a letter. It was short, written in his familiar handwriting.
It said:
> “I gave you my eyes so you could see the world you always dreamed of. Just promise me you'll take care of them well.”
Tears rolled down her cheeks as she read the words. The truth hit her like a wave. He had given up his sight—his entire world—for her happiness. And in return, she had turned away from him.
She clutched the letter to her chest, feeling shame and sorrow she had never known before. How could she forget all he had done? When she was lost in darkness, he was her light. And now that she could see, she had blinded herself with selfishness.
Years passed, and the girl never saw him again. But every time she looked in the mirror, every time she admired the beauty of the world, she remembered the man who had loved her enough to give everything—even his vision—for her smile.

Moral of the Story:
We often forget those who stood beside us in the hardest times once our lives improve. It’s easy to celebrate joy, but loyalty is truly tested in pain. True love doesn’t count the cost. It gives without expecting anything in return.
Always value the people who care for you when you have nothing, for they are the ones who truly love you.
Final Thought:
Life is a precious gift. Live it with kindness, cherish the ones who matter, and never take love for granted.
